Nice, heavy weight paper you can use almost any medium and fun to work with. Infinite possibilities.
This is a very nice paper to use for drawing, watercolor and mix media when you can’t afford the really the expensive professional quality paper. It is heavy and has just enough tooth for watercolor, acrylic paints, drawing or what ever your heart desires. Having said that, I am no Michael Angelo or professional artist. I haven’t tried using oils on it either. I have used it for drawing with pencils, dual tip color pens, micron artist pens, watercolors and collage. It holds up beautifully. The pad comes with 40, 138 lb weight sheets you can use both sides of this paper without worrying about colored markers bleeding through, a nicely finished black spiral spine and a heavy thick cover on both front and back. I have even cut sheets up for making book marks and using a hole punch to add pretty ribbons and even made a baby mobile with this paper being mindful of choking hazards for little ones. I have painted and glued beads, buttons feathers and paints etc. and this paper works beautifully. It is a heavy weight French paper, it is ribbed ribbed on one side and smooth on the other and fun to work and create with. I am in love with Arteza’s 30 Premium watercolor sheet pads but short of that this is my paper of choice until I get good enough to only use the really expensive paper. It travels very well and the cover and back are sturdy enough to protect your artwork. The cover and back are made of quality cardboard, covered with a textured, slightly ribbed fabric quality to it. I mostly use the 9 x 12 inch pads but it comes in smaller and larger sizes. I prefer the larger size as it gives me the freedom to create larger paintings and I can always cut it with a great German paper cutter I bought through Amazon. I haven’t experienced any yellowing or discoloring and as I said before it’s a heavyweight French paper for both wet or dry media. I am assuming it is acid free but don’t quote me on that. It’s fun to work with and you can experiment with it without breaking the bank. I love this paper and miss Arteza’s Premiun watercolor paper pads that is acid free and is cold pressed. I don’t know if this beautiful Canson pad of paper is cold pressed. I’m still learning but each of these pads has different qualities to offer. It is a great buy, especially if you are a student, just having fun, experimenting and creating. I do think this pad of paper it is too nice for children who are just playing or coloring . Get them a good sketching pad. You are pretty much limited by your imagination. Enjoy! This is a really nice pad of paper with infinite possibilities!

Excellent Sketchbook For The Serious Artist
I tried many sketchbooks back in the day when I was an art student who worked part time at an art supply store. I still procure art supplies and have to say the Canson Mix Media Art Book is by far one of my favorites. I had purchased this particular item before from a big box but was so glad to find it offered at a good price on Amazon. The cover is thick and durable and can take a lot of travel and wear during sketching stints. You can count on the pages staying in place as it fits easily in an art bag or briefcase and works great for all kinds of situations. It's also the perfect size for storing on a shelf. It has a flawless wire binding that's tough and never budges. No worry about errant wires or papers getting caught when opening. This book keeps on working. The acid-free paper is a thick stock -- excellent if you want to archive your art. The paper is perforated for detachment and is of high quality, making it a good choice if you intend to sell your art. The surface accommodates graphite and colored pencil and can stand up to a lot of rendering and erasing and even some blending. You can use markers on it as well. I highly recommend this art book for professional use. It would also be a good choice for a serious art student who wants to use it for portfolio purposes or archive artwork for future reference. ~ Kort

Fantastic all-around multi media sketchbook
These are among my very favorite sketchbooks because of the size, spiral binding, and paper quality. They are fantastic for dry and wet media, including mixed media applications. While the paper has two sides to accommodate both wet and dry media, I've used watercolor on both sides with no problem, and the paper stands up to multiple layers of paint or mixed media. I can't live without these sketchbooks and hope they are always available.

Well Made Book.
Good quality cover and spiral binding. Book opens and pages turn easily without snagging. Paper is almost heavy enough for watercolor. Good quality paper, but not great. Can scrub color off paper if needed. Works great for what it is, a handy, portable color sketch book. Very nice!

Amazing sketchbook
I loved this sketchbook as it was required for my study abroad and held up so well! The paper holds ink, pencil, watercolor and marker really well which was great for all of the things I needed it for. Definitely recommend for anyone that wants a high quality sketchbook that will last a long time!

The paper is very good quality, love the weight. Drawings look better on this paper vs. cheaper brands

Solid construction and versatile
I've had several which I use to map out ideas for larger scale execution. Heavy gauge paper keeps media from bleeding through on rear. Pages are removable from spiral binder without tearing but perforated if you wish to. Cover sits flat on rear if you're drawing on table.
