Splat the Cat Kindle Edition

For my 4 year old, I found this book to be a little over complicated. Cause and effect aren't really her strong suit yet so the occasional jumps kind of left her confused. As much as I hate reading books to her where everything is uber spelled out, this book taught me the necessity of that which is so loathsome to read as an adult. Regardless, the book is very cute. I was a little worried about this book causing new issues once I started reading it, sometime reading about anxiety in a character can trigger it in a child (I've found), but that was really my own mistake not reading the book ahead of time to prepare myself. Not my daughter, or my own favorite book, but solid, well written, and well illustrated.

This was my son's first kindergarten book to "read" meaning look at the words and try to remember them. It is about getting ready to go to school, and it's so great for kids new to school.

Both of my kids love splat the cat and this one is a favorite. To be honest, it isn’t the best ‘touch + feel’ book, but that doesn’t bother me because I didn’t buy it for that reason.

Rob Scotton is amazing. The students love this book and there are so many ways to incorporate different learning activities by using Splatt and his adventures as examples.

My little one LOVES Splat the Cat so we had to order a few, especially at these prices! This was the more expensive one due to it being a hard cover but he read this book in school and wanted it. Quality is great like any other book. The colors are vibrant and the stories are always fun!

This book came highly recommended so I'm not sure why I'm surprised that this was a real treat! Each of my children (ages 1 to 11) enjoyed this book and I so, must of all! The storyline: simple and purrrrrfect the illustration: entrancing and meticulous! I whole-heartedly recommend this book to everyone!

Great story, funny and sweet! Gorgeous, engaging, and oh so clever illustrations (I LOVE the little mouse shape in Splat's bed sheet!). I LOVE how Splat's teacher enjoyed and directed the children, and I LOVE how happy Splat was when he came home from his first day of school! Very encouraging story!

Super cute book! However, it was supposed to be a Christmas gift and the book arrived damaged. The book is a board book but the book was bent and worn at the corners. Disappointed but should be getting a replacement soon, I hope it’s better.

My three year old toddler loves Splat the Investigator and we read that over and over again hence I purchased this book. Unfortunately this story book does not appeal to him and I can understand as there is no real excitement, not like `Splat the Investigator'. This is a book about splat the cat who is worried about his first day at school and makes excuses up not to go. A little disappointing compared to the other title. The illustrations are very good.

Lovely book. Well illustrated and nice story

My 3 year old daughter loves Splat. The large picture book format is glossy and the pictures are beautifully drawn. The continuity of characters throughout the series (Spike, Plank, Splat, Seymour etc) means younger readers feel a connection with them. The storylines are easy to understand and it almost feels like you are viewing works of art on every page as much as reading a book. Only thing to beware is that not all Splat books are the same size and some are 'based on the creation of Rob Scotton' rather than authored by Rob. Stick to the originals and you won't be dissapointed

Good book

Such a fun book - my 3 year old loves it and it's one of the first books he always wants to read. High quality drawings - all good fun.

Wonderful illustrations to accompany a simple story that little ones can relate to. You just can't help laughing.

The children in my class really loved this story at the beginning of the school year, about a little cat who needs a bit of convincing that school is a great place.

Bought this years ago and kids still love it. Suitable for 2-7 year olds. Fantastic illustrations which really lift the story. You'll read it again and again!

I believe every school starting kid should read this book... I am sure they all will connect with Splat and Seymour.

My little one just adores this story. It is at the moment the bed time book and will stay this way for a while. Already have the next in series for Christmas.Great book for animal lovers.

My son loved this book. He had just turned five and was due back to school and this was a brilliant funny story. It's well written, lots of laughs and the illustrations were super. It promotes lots of interactions between reader and child.

My 5 months old daughter loves it. the drawing is big, the cat is black. Simple story with children familiar characters (cats and mouse). Hope they have e book version as cheaper.
