Use mineral spirits to thin as desired. Warm slightly to bind to metal. After drying, lightly buff.

only 1/3 full
my container wasn't near full, maybe 1/3 full, however, it goes on smooth and easy. Just wish it had been full as shown in the description.

Easier than run n buff?
I use this for glass engraving. I bought in the recommendation of other calligraphers. While easier to remove than rub n buff, it still requires some elbow grease to remove it all. It is nice with it being thicker and in a tin rather than a tube. I would recommend this product.

Old
Very disapointing. Product is dried out and cracked.

Very bright, cool white with low opacity
This is a bright, cool white that's very similar in shade to Kiwi white shoe polish. Like other Gilders Paste colors, this white is very easy to apply with paper towels, fingers, brushes, or anything else you choose. It also buffs to a nice sheen with brushes, paper towels, or my Dremel. This color's not nearly as opaque as other colors, though, and requires several coats for good coverage. It almost reminds me of a white-wash effect, even when applied directly on white cast stone (Hydrostone, which is very, very white). For this reason, I prefer white shoe polish for opaque applications (besides the cheaper price of the shoe polish). Where less opacity is needed, I'll reach for Gilders Paste because it's so easy to use.

Old?
I've never used this stuff before but from what I can tell it arrived fairly dried out. Idk if it is old or not but it was disappointing to have it arrive so dried out when it's supposed to be new. It was packaged fairly well so I don't think that is the issue.
