E-Z Red MSBD28 Auto Memory Saver

When I can, I use this with a 12v jump pack to keep from losing vehicle memory when changing vehicle batteries. During use, you can't let a positive cable or terminal touch ground(such as the body) or the fuse will blow and you'll lose vehicle memory. Unfortunately, many newer vehicles put fuse blocks on top of the battery, so that becomes difficult to prevent.

Changing a battery without losing radio memory or having to reset the clock is convenient with this device. I have a portable charging pack in order to use the unit in lieu of having to buy a more expensive unit. Either way, a must have device.

Made the process of changing my car battery so much easier. Plugged one end into the OBD II port of the car I was servicing and the other into the cigarette lighter of my other car. It reached just fine. This saved me $50 of having someone change my battery for me, and I can keep using it. I also appreciated not having to buy a special battery jumper pack for this specific purpose. A simple solution for a simple problem.

If you need to replace the battery in a car made after 2000 then you need a gadget like this to maintain power to the car’s many electronic systems. The EZ Red provides power from the 12V power port (nee cigarette lighter) of another car. The cord is plenty long enough for easy access if you can park the cars side by side. A helpful light indicates if power is flowing. The other end goes into the data port of the car that needs a battery replacement. Then you can replace the old battery without worry. Time is not a concern because the other car’s battery will support this tiny current draw virtually indefinitely. Just unplug when you are done and that’s it. It couldn’t possibly be easier.I would have rated this 5 stars if not for the stiffness of the coiled wiring. It’s coiled like an old telephone handset and a little stiff, especially on a cool day.

I bought this so that I could replace my battery and still keep it connected to 12 volts so that all my electronics would not be affected. Worked perfectly. Highly recommend.

Awesome tool at a good price, I use it with my jump box, works great.

I don't really know if it was necessary (never used one on previous battery replacements), but connected this to a portable pack, swapped out the battery, and everything was fine. No drama.Seat / mirror profiles preserved. Radio OK. Custom JPEG on the dash clock. Didn't seem like the computer had to relearn anything.
