Rubbermaid FG448700ROYBL Media Storage Box Royal, Blue

I've used these for years and was devastated when the local stores quit carrying them. All my years and years of photos are stored in them. My only concern was the reports by multiple people that the boxes arrived damaged. Mine arrived fine but I understand why people are concerned. Mine arrived fine but I understand why people are concerned. My guess is that these are legacy boxes on close out purchased when the stores quit carrying them. So they have been shipped around-a lot. The Amazon portion of the packaging was excellent, but the Rubbermaid six pack box as it was shipped from the factory was really beat up. Still all of my boxes arrived unbroken and the lids were on broken also. So I consider myself lucky.

I had one of these from years ago and was pleasantly pleased to find Rubbermaid still makes this product. I wanted consistency in size because I am stacking these in an RV bin. Since these are longer than the shoe box size, "camping things" fit in them well. In addition, the shape is square; it is not tapered on the bottom. The ridges on the bottom are great, if things like sunscreen or bug repellent leak items in the box are not sitting in the liquid. I suppose they work well with CD's too but I haven't tried them for that purpose. :)

Arrived with 2 lids broken. I bought these after having used an earlier version for years and they work well as a photo storage box. However the current version is not as well made as the prior. Plastic is very fragile. Would not recommend.

I ordered this as a Amazon Warehouse deal. Unfortunately half the units were broken. It will take 3-6 weeks for a "new" replacement. The container is great - just looking for them to be in good condition.

Getting a quality product in which you can properly store DVDs in is getting harder and harder. This is one of them that are fairly easy to find. It describes itself as able to store 27 DVDs, which it does secure and snug and provides reasonable protection to the product. They also stack well, up to five high. The only flaws are a moving part clasp that comes off and/or breaks too easily and of the three products I use for media storage, this is the first one where the shell will break. I nonetheless recommend it. It also includes a removable support brace for partially full cases, which is handy until you've suddenly developed a collection of twenty of these products and now need a separate bin to store the support braces. The product also claims to be able to store 32 CDs in the traditional jewel case. I have tried it, and the extra gap space on either side can make them rattle loosely. I recommend something snugger for CDs. The product labeling also describes them good for storage of photographs, if you're the kind of person still getting them developed and handed back to you at the local photo-mart. It also says its good for 15 VHS tapes, which I haven't tested. Overall a decent product and one I recommend for DVD storage.

We had purchased these before and needed more. These are my favorite. I like them clear, so I can quickly see what is inside. They stack nicely and are of high quality. I highly recommend these for storing DVDs and other media. We have many movies, but do not want to get rid of them, but only need to store ones that are not watched often. We will then rotate them from garage to media room so that we always have something different to choose from each month.

Two came with cracks approximately 2" from top down to handle end on container. Bummer, but the others worked out well housing DVDs in a cabinet.

It was a perfect container for my stuff. And apparently a lot of people like it. So of course they discontinued it.
