Let's face it - the Toslink plug and socket is a poor design. A heavy cable pulling down on on that dumpy little cube plug by its own weight can loosen or misalign the plug if not very snug. Avoid those heavy braided wrapped things like the plague. So a light cable is best. This is as light as it gets - the cable is only 2-3mm thick. The plugs are the best fit of any I have tried (and I have quite a few including QED, etc). A nice firm click and no wobble. The plugs are black which is best cos light does not want unnecessary shiny surfaces - like painted pretend gold plating. This cable has one purpose - light (modulated at some high frequency) shines in one end and comes out the other to hit a receiver which needs to be capable of handling the data rate you put in the other end. I have used it between a streamer and DAC at CD quality (16 bit 44.1 kHz), 24 bit at the same frequency, and HiRes to 24 bit 192KHz. No problem. On physical grounds, this is the best Toslink cable I have bought and it is cheapest. Even better than Amazon Basics perhaps, which I think is good too. I wish they did the same line in white. I could replace the black thing that trails along the skirting board between TV and DAC.. it would be invisible.

Cheap, cheerful and does the job perfectly. Even after my kitten had a few nibbles on it :DThere's a lot of rubbish out there about how higher quality digital cables improve sound quality. Don't buy into that, the signal either gets there or it doesn't. This cable is entirely adequate without gold plated connectors or fancy shielding. The whole point of optical is that it doesn't need all that stuff.

better than i expected it

I didn't want the typical .5 to 1 meter Toslink cable to go from the back of my TV to the attached soundbar. Too much extra cable This "shorty" was perfect.

Un autre toslink acheté à titre d'essai,.... et très surpris, à la première écoute lecteur cd-ampli, son pas mauvais du tout. Demande une écoute plus approfondie pour entendre une différence par rapport à un câble de meilleure qualité, mais de prime abord, c'est un bon achat. Attention qu'à ce prix, et vu la façon dont on peut le plier, je doute que ce soit de la fibre optique en verre, mais plutôt un câble optique tout en plastic, qui vieillira sans doute aussi moins bien que du verre (opacification ?)... Si 100% plastic, il a du coup forcément aussi une plus faible bande passante, mais je ne l'ai pas essayé pour de la vidéo. A confirmer.
