I Clic Cleat/X-Presso Cleats - Black

I needed to replace my old Mavic Zxellium cleats and I decided to buy these ones as they work with the iClic techololgy as my old Mavic ones. Despite that, I was a bit unsure if they were going to match my pedals, but when I had these cleats in my hands I compared both ones and they are identical, and they get fixed on my Mavic pedals very smoothly and strongly. These cleats are an excellent alternative if you are looking for a Mavic cleats replacement.

I do really like the cleat's functionality, float and retention characteristics. Used with the Carbon iClics. I absolutely hate the lack of durability. I only ride 1500-1750 miles a year on the road bike and have to replace these cleats regularly. I do not walk much in the riding shoes, if at all.

I bought these as replacement cleats for the ones that came with the iCLIC Carbon pedals I bought. The original ones (red and black) with the red portion made of a softer, more flexible, material lasted only for two rides. One broke and the other started to crack.These ones from Amazon are made of a harder material all around and look hefty and strong. So far I am pleased with them and it looks like they will last.

I bought these and IClic pedals separately,thinking they would be even easier to click in to than my Look Keos. Not so. They were more finicky. I returned the pedals and cleats. I also bought some cleat covers - practically impossible to put on and keep on. I went back to my Looks.

Cleats wear out very fast & require frequent & costly replacement

Easy to mount and good performance. The only drawback is that they wear quickly.

Cleats are wear items, and so you'd rather have a spare handy rather than wait a few days while you struggle with badly worn out cleats. Durability is decent so far. I have about 700 mi on the current cleats and have minimal issues clipping in. Walking around is no problem at all, from hardwood floors in cafés, to gravel in parking lots.
