Sniper Elite V2 - Playstation 3

---Game review based on Sniper Elite difficulty on single player campaign---The game is tough, no lie. There are some spots where you'll have fun blasting away at enemies without them being able to get you back...at the same time...there are spots in which you will hate the game with all your guts.There are 3 rifles, 3 machine guns and 3 pistols. Honestly, there is little difference between them and there is no training for how to use the different scopes (although they're not that different). The only key difference is that on the sniper rifles, the second one has 7 bullets and reloads faster. On the machine guns is all about how big the clip is, there is one with 71 bullets, go for that if they area calls for close encounters. And the pistols, well, one is silenced and the other two are not, the M1911 being my favorite even when it's not silenced...very powerful.Your equipment is composed of trip mines, land mines, grenades, stick grenades and dynamite. The most useless being the latter, unless you know where the enemy will be, they just sit there and do nothing. Trip and land mines are your best friends for covering those flanking spots as you take on enemies. Still, I don't think they put a high explosive radius because you will hardly ever get a 2 for 1 kill with these...even when the enemies are close together.The maps seem a bit clustered and the environment sometimes lacks of vantage points where you can snipe freely from. Even when there are some, the enemies will spot you with nasty accuracy and give you a hard time. Some of the areas have sound masking events happening, which are good to use to not get caught, but these are rare. If I recall well, the first one had outrageous distances and made for better shots, you could almost line up shots that were on the edge of the scope and get kills like that.So with all these issues, why is this game fun? Well, there is nothing like lining up that perfect shot and watch that beautiful x-ray cam land your shot (especially on Sniper Elite difficulty as you have to take into account heart rate, wind speed and your body position). You can shatter bones, pierce skulls, destroy hearts, eyes, lungs, livers, kidneys and the one thing we all live for...that testicle shattering shot. There are explosives laying around such as barrels, gas cans and vehicles, but getting those kills is almost impossible as they hardly ever get near them. Some enemies carry grenades and those can be used to remotely detonate and kill...the problem is that it only kills the person carrying it, no clue why.All in all, I give the game a 4.5 as there are hardly any good sniping games. This game took a step back when it comes to long maps and elaborate ways to kill enemies, but rewarded us with more realistic shots and sweet x-ray cams. Hopefully they can merge both worlds as they sort of hint in the end of the game that there may be a cold war themed sniper elite game.

I’m a huge fan of the Sniper Elite series. I have played both 3 and 4, which are absolutely amazing. The crowd that plays online is pretty good and serious about it. Oh wait, this is about V2! Wow, what a pleasure to play one of the precursors. Of course, the graphics are outdated and there is way less details and available actions but that does not diminushes the experience regardless! It is great to play a WWII themed game in occupied Germany in the final days of the 3rd Reich! The soundtrack and the narrative are absolutely on par with current versions. The desolation of war are depicted perfectly in many crumbled buildings, fires, crashed planes and lots of ruble. I love to stand still and hear the dialog between the German Soldiers. I am not going to add additional spoilers, so let’s leave at that. If you are a fan, it is a must buy. If you looking to satisfy your nostalgia playing a good PS/3 game, that is the one. I do not recommend this game for those that like “Gung-Ho” style shooter games. Patience here is king and rushing will only get you killed faster.

This is a very good game if you like to be a sniper.It's not run and gun, you have to plan and execute your moves or you will alert the enemy, then they will swarm you and your position.Graphics are very good IMO. You have 10 missions and 1 DLC mission(so far)in which you get to kill Hitler!! Hard to pass up a chance to kill one of the most hated and loathed people of all time. The KILL CAM is great, when you make a perfect shot, it follows your bullet from barrel to target in slow motion showing impact and damage. The music fits very well setting up the missions and the fact that it's a WWII setting is great.Small history lesson while you play. The multiplayer is fun and the co-op is fun too. This game follows along the lines of the first Sniper Elite from a few years back. If you played and liked that game, chances are you will like this one too!! Overall it's a good game and fun to play. If you like sniping then you will like this game.

Having owned and played "Sniper Elite" for the PS2, the graphics for the PS3 version are very much improved. Graphics aside, the two versions are just about the same and neither one of them is what I would describe as easy.If you want a shooter you might consider "Bulletstorm" or "Rage.""Sniper Elite" creates the dangerous atmosphere of the sniper's world. It is just as much about remaining hidden from your enemies as it is about shooting them. The game requires that you take your time, crawling through rubble, remaining hidden while guards walk their posts, waiting for them to turn their backs so that they can be killed with stealth, and your presence undetected. Shooting enemies is not always the best tactic, until you're absolutely ready. The game is slow and methodical, and a whole lot of fun. And, expect to be killed more often than you kill. The Germans and Russians are really good at their jobs.

I am a big fan of this series and this is another one of their really good games. The game is set in WWII era. The graphics of this game are excellent. This game has a good story line (not too long not too short). I am a fan of first person shooting games and this game brings in it what most games these days don't. Planning and strategy. You just don't keep shooting 1000s of round and knock down target. You plan, place yourself at a strategic location and take the shot. You are evaluated and given points on the kind of shots you make (which is another feature I like a lot). There is a very good mix of your targets being out in open and when they are hiding. A lot of times you'd need to take shots at targets that are very far away. I love it. I haven't completed playing the game yet, but I have totally enjoyed it so far.
