Good Value and Easy to Install - Sort Of
The seal on my garage door has been pretty flat for about 10+ years now. Replacing it has been on my list for some time, but being a master procrastinator, I just finally got around to installing a new one. I chose this model since it has the inner O-Ring to help support the weight of the door and it does make a huge difference. The installation would have been simple enough except for the design of my door that made using the provided screws pretty useless. The holes in the track are in the center, which makes sense, but in the center of my door bottom where the track goes, there is about a 1/4 inch gap so the screws go right through into the door insulation foam and there is nothing for them to grab. The original track was attached using screws that came in from the side versus underneath. The problem was I did not have any short 1/4 inch screws to use that method and due to the current virus lock down, no way to get more screws. Plus doing that would have made it hard to thread the seal into the track as the screws would have likely protruded into the track. So I needed to drill some offset holes so the screws would have something to bite into. Doing that was a real pain since there is not much room for a screw to catch the metal. But I was able to get a few in each track and plan to come back later and put more screws in from the side. The other issue I encountered was the track ended up being recessed into the bottom of the door by close to a 1/4 inch. So I had to feed the seal in before the last track was installed. Then feed the seal in to the last track and install it using a few screws I had attaching it from the side like the original installation. I was able to get the seal in about half way on my own using a little grease to lubricate the seal, but ended up getting my son to help me finish it up. I read another review, just now, and the gentleman used some lubrication spray on the track. Not sure why I did not think of that, but I would recommend that method especially if you are doing it on your own. However, I also recommend a second pair of hands so the one feeding the track can make sure it is getting in the grove. I had it slip out a few times during the installation and had to back it out. I was in a bit of a rush though, which did not help matters. In the end I am very happy with the results and should have done it years ago. The track is well made and the rubber seal is of high quality and should last a long time. Also, with the extra feature of the O-Ring, the door no longer slams to the floor like it did for the last 10+ years. I recommend paying the extra for the O-Ring model, especially if you have a heavy thick insulated door like mine. If you have a non insulated aluminum door the O-Ring style is probably overkill. Either way, the product is well made, worth the money and has my endorsement.

Perfect replacement seal and track
So I don't usually leave reviews mainly because I'm lazy but after installing this I had to. So for starters, I don't know garage doors, but I consider myself relatively handy. Projects that are designed to take an hour usually take me an hour and a half or more either due to me trying to cut corners, or just blatantly doing something wrong and having to correct it. I almost DIDN'T purchase this product or any product because most reviews of this product and similar products state how difficult it is. The instructions clearly state its easier with 2 people and while it might be, i didn't have that ability to tie up my wife while she was with the kids so i tooo it on solo. We have a 16ft metal/aluminum maybe garage door that had a sort of metal track attached to the bottom of the door and a single line down the middle where the previous seal was inserted. The previous seal was so old and crusty that I had to cut it off with a knife and found no way to remove the metal bottom plate that was sort of inserted/part of the garage door. I opened the door part way so it was about at eye level or chest level then started working. I think the instructions said to cut power to your door and maybe thats safe, but here is an example of me cutting corners. Once I cut off the old seal, I used painters tape to tape up the track to the bottom of the door(as I saw someone do in some images on these reviews). Once the track was taped up, the last piece had to be cut. I couldn't find my hand saw so I opted for using a oscillating saw which cut through the track with ease with the proper blade installed. Once that piece was cut I taped it up like the rest and grabbed my drill. As everyone has stated, you HAVE TO drill pilot holes, unless maybe the door you have is wood. I tried to drill the screw directly through the metal/alluminum/ whatever standard garage door is, and it didn't work. Drilling the pilot holes was kindof a pain and this could have been my drill bits, but metal on metal the bit slides around, and obviously you don't want your hole bigger than the screw, so my holes were never perfectly center, but it all worked out. After trying to drill the pilot holes while having the track taped up I realized that the track was moving, so after drilling the first hole I used some quick grip bar clamps to clamp the track to the door. Then resumed drilling all the pilot holes. I focused on one track at a time, so after the pilot holes were done on the first track I would screw them into place, then move to the next track which worked well. Once the track was up I was concerned about getting the rubber seal in since most people say it's hard. (Also deterred me from almost not buying this) the instructions state what to do, and to use a screwdriver to sort of pop it in place. I used some silicone garage door lubricant down the whole track, one at a time. Popping the seal in using the screw driver method in their instructions was such a breeze, this is what drove me to write my review. Use lubricant, use a screwdriver and you'll have the seal up in minutes. I used a ladder to be my "2nd person " and draped the seal over the ladder as i moved down from one end to the other. Without the ladder or a 2nd person holding the seal up, im sure it wouldve been harder. Once one side was in place, I lubed the other track and followed the same routine. Once it was in place I knew the hard part had started. Closing the door brought it down, but it detected the new seal and probably assumed it was a foot(safety sensors) so the door wouldn't close. I then had to adjust the down and up force on the garage door to get the door to properly close (I used YouTube for help because again, I don't know garage doors). Once the door was closed, I noticed the chain was now hanging lower, so I had to return to YouTube to figure out what to do. There's a pin to adjust with some wrenches and that eventually fixed that. Overall I am pleased, it took me about 2 hours between installation, adjusting the actual garage, and adjusting the chain. Oh also, it has these 2 side plugs to put in the little rubber round thing in the middle. I had to remove these plugs because with them, I couldn't get the door to close. It kept tripping the sensor and I guess thinking something was under the door. All in all, I'm very satisfied to finally have a sealed garage door after 8 months of just dealing with a broken seal and avoiding this and other products because of reviews.

This product was used on a 12 ft roll up garage door. The rails were the easy part. The rubber gasket was quite a different install. It was very difficult to get both inserts to fit at the same time. I got it done and it functions quite well. No water infiltration at all. I purchased 2 more for my other 9 ft garage doors. Very good product.
