Best waterbrush I've used so far!
The first aqua brush I bought was the kuretake medium. It was pretty good except for the water flow which was too much food my coloring books. I would squeeze a bit and then have to wipe the brush on a paper towel for 5 minutes before I can use it on the paper. Not ideal. Then I saw someone review the Derwent aqua brush set and thought they might be a good idea. They're certainly higher quality brushes and I really like the different brush sizes (especially the small/fine one, great for intricate details). But they tend to be on the dry side, so good for some books but not for others. The bristles were also a bit too flexible which made it hard to stay within the lines. Finally I saw someone on YouTube say they preferred the Caran d'Ache brushes to the Derwent ones so I ended up ordering the entire set when I saw a used one for just $10. The set I received didn't actually look used (the bristles still had the 'gum' or whatever, I had to wet the bristles and work them a bit) and came in the original packaging as well. So that was already a good deal. But the best part is that these brushes are just perfect! The 2 brushes - medium and large - are perfect. Just the right length and flexibility and the water flow is perfect too! But the surprise was the third one. This one has a felt tip like a marker and it stays damp without flooding the page with water. In fact it's a great replacement for those water based blender markers (Dove, Koi etc) you can use for watercolor pencils. I can use it on really thin paper since I can get away with using very little water and is amazing for small spaces. The results are also much brighter than a regular water brush since there is less water to pigment ratio. I just wish I had bought these brushes first, instead of stumbling around with the others. But they're not too bad and now I have many different sizes for different books! If you're looking for aqua brushes, these are the best. I'd suggest this set and the zig detailer as the best combination of brushes for adult coloring.

Awesome!
These pens are fantastic and totally exceeded my expectations. Very easy to use, good control over water and I feel like I'm getting more vibrant colors using these than I was with my usual brushes. I've mainly used these with the dry pan gouache from the same brand which is also excellent.

The brushes were very nice but the red one was ok. I recommend buying.
I bought these brushes to use with my watercolors mostly because I wanted the brush that was like a monoliner. The black and blue brushes work very well and I love the results. The red mono line one on the other hand is not as nice. I found that if you want a mono line look instead you should get a mono line nib. But, these brushes are also very nice because of the reservoir where you fill with water. On my other waterbrushes I have to go to the sink to fill them but with these it’s very easy and I can just get a cup of water and pull out the top.

Good value
Why did you pick this product vs others?: These are steps above regular watercolor brushes because of the amount of water they hold, the syringe style loading capability and how they feel in the hand.

One of the best water brushes on the market
I won one of these brushes at a meeting. Prior to that I hadn't tried one but quickly realized I should have. Their design is completely different from their cheaper counterparts. With the cheaper water brushes I either had too little water in the brush or too much and quite frankly, using them was frustrating. The difference with these brushes is being able to control how much water is distributed in the brush and they hold pigment beautifully. As soon as I got home from the meeting I ordered the full set of three. Yes, these brushes are more expensive than their competitors but the difference in quality is well worth it. And just FYI - TSA doesn't give them a second glance when going through airport security. I can't tell you how many small bottles of water (for my watercolors) I've forgotten in my travel bag, then had my bag searched for a liquid that showed up on the scan and had to toss. With these you can paint on the plane if you wanted to do some travel sketching. No more long, boring flights.

Arthritis issues
I would love 2 of these brushes if I didn't have problems with arthritis in my thumb (and recovering from an operation). I have other water brushes (pentel and some by Jane somebody) and the water control is better with these ones (pentel is fine, though). They hold so much more. The syringe mechanism is a good idea. BUT the push button to release water is very stiff. Perhaps I am also pressing too much? (But you need to press to clean off the brush) Anyway, I had extreme pain in my thumb after using one for awhile. I also really thought the one that is like a marker would be a good idea, especially with water color pencils but its so thick, it didn't do anything for me. Honestly, I want to return, but the brush stained so much from one of my paints that it feels like I used it. It's clean, but looks very pink. I guess that's not my fault though. I used it for a little over an hour. It's a color I used before but didn't have this problem with ( WNpermanent rose) On the plus side, the 'medium' brush actually come to a very fine point when you need it to, you don't need a fine brush with these. I love Caran d'Ache products and do think these are a superior quality, just not made for people with arthritis.

Caran D'Ache makes very good arr materials. I'd buy these again, but don't think I'll ever have to.
I LOVE these waterbrushes! It took a while after I received them to get around to trying them out, but finally I did. They are easy to fill, easy to control the flow, do not leak at all, and it's super easy to dab the brush on a paper towel to go back and pick up any pooling, if there is any, and the only time I had to was when I picked up the biggest brush and pushed too much water onto my paper. Easy to fix. They are very solid in the hand and seem like they will hold up to a lot of use for a long time.

Very happy with the 3 set of these water pens. I have already purchased several of these items, and generally they will eventually start pushing too much water when you least expect it. These pens have a push button and the filling method is done by a long pump which pulls the water into the reservoir. My only wish would be for one pen to have a finer tip than the finest, but just overall the quality and performance is excellent. Shipping was quicker than expected, packaging excellent, I would definitely get these pens when and if these ever break or wear out.
