Hustlers [Blu-ray] [2019]

I watched this film for the first time on prime TV. Was so gutted they took it off so had to own it on dvd. My kind of film, the music, actresses, storyline and the bad a$$ attitude. Will definitely watch it time and again.

Saw 30mins of film on TV and knew l wanted to own a Blu-ray copy in My film Collection." Girl Power " or " Ladies On Top " (quite literally) pardon the pun !!!Good to see an All female cast leading on Film.Marcus.

I loved this movie so much. This was my first time watching it and I've got to say I enjoyed the cameo's [SPOILER ALERT] ( Melissa Jefferson , Belcalis Almanzar AND Usher Raymond IV). Absolute powerhouses of both music and bad - bi**hery. Keke Palmer was a definite and unexpected highlight for me, her skills at running in high heels appear to be unparalleled, her stank face sublime. I see a lot of negative comments about the glamorisation of crime on here and how this film perpetuated it. I agree. It does glamorise crime but its the kind of crime that I'm (mostly) down with considering the majority of the victims. To all the people saying it was boring I would say that they didn't give it a fair chance and that they're bitter because they never expected to see the story of how they lost thousands in a strip club to be on amazon prime, but that's on them. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes good music and heroines that don't always do the right thing, not even for the right reasons but who do what they feel they have to regardless. Rest In Peace Nana Thotiana, you were a bad B.

I wasn't sure whether to watch this film and I have to admit, it's because Jennifer Lopez is in it, so didn't think it would be that good. I was more than pleasantly surprised. This film was so entertaining and kept me interested from start to end. The storyline was engaging and the acting superb. Constance Wu is brilliant and I'm surprised that she wasn't at least given a best actress nod somewhere. Jennifer Lopez too was superb - really embedded herself into the character that she was portraying.Interesting to know that this film was based on a true story.Would recommend watching this film.

There are some scenes that are really stretched out for no reason (e.g unwrapping presents scene) and if you minus the stripper scenes the plot itself is pretty steady BUT it didn't portray the whole 'it's a dog eats dog world' with money & sex as the food, thing very well. Because that hustle wasn't the only thing they could do. They're smarter than to give into their greed. Once they stole a few thousand they could've stopped and done something with it instead of spending it all. Also the 'sisterhood' was built on such materialistic desires it's not beautiful; it's really sad these women think that's how to liberate each other.As another review said I think we're supposed to feel sorry for them & you kinda do at first but then you don't. Even the MC, Destiny, says, she feels sorry for the men they exploited. This film is different because you're conflicted at the end, you're not really on anyone's side. It's a morbid kinda ending and I'm not really sure what to take from the ending.The actresses was good tho, (except for the crackhead Dawn), you didn't see J.Lo, you saw Ramona. But good acting can't save the script writing, none of these characters are love-able. I also don't get the way they chose to narrate the story as a journalist interviewing all the parties involved. An odd approach not utilised well in this film. And Cardi B & Lizzo were barely in the film, why put them on the posters for??So yeah, a meh watch with some entertainment scenes for your pleasure. Clever hustle tho, dangerous but clever.

This is such an under rated movie, it seems like a normal commercial poppy movie and then becomes a brilliant commentary of American society of the last 20 years. A director to watch out for.

i love this film, its a story of girls who wants to make their living. well done for treating guys the way they treat us for a change.

There's a deeply unpleasant undertone in this movie that the serious crime was acceptable or justified and that the audience are just assumed to accept that as immutable fact. The issue is not that the movie is about a crime (as many movies are), but that the perpetrators fail to receive any real punishment and the crime seems to be treated as a consequence free joke. The cinematography and performances are fine but I find the overall message that movie sends to be distasteful.

Fyi... says it's "Region Free" but won't play on US Bluray players.
