Gorgeous and With a Train!!
Disclaimer - I know the illustrator but that’s not why I think this book is great and gorgeous. The colors and the scenes evoke that beautiful time of night before sleep comes and there is a train too! Our boys loved that the book went over what each type of train car was called. Plus for younger readers there is a counting component too. A great book that will now be part of our regular nighttime reading routine.

Very lovely illustrations.
I bought this because when I looked at the digital preview I loved the illustrations. It's a cute little bedtime book, for any train loving child.I especially love that it features a cute little boy who is brown/black or African American as the protagonist.

Perfect for train lovers
My three year old grandson, who loves trains, was thrilled with this book. After a few readings, he was finishing the rhyme on each page. Beautiful book.

Story gaps...
What book are you guys reading? This book is NOT good. We got it as part of the Imagination Library. The only reason it got 2 stars is because it's illustrated well. On one of the very first pages, it says there are 10 train cars except... there are more than 10 in the picture? It only counts some of the cars (ie, flatbed car makes one, gondola makes two, and then doesn't count another one until it's at like 7?), repeats the same line a million times for no reason (okay, there are ten cars... I got it), misses a rhyme on one page so the line ends haltingly... Blech. Do not buy.

The tots I volunteer with enjoyed learning about the different train cars
All on board! While on a train, a small boy is struggling to fall asleep. He decides to count the train cars to help him fall asleep. As he counts the trains, he feels himself drifting slowly into dreamland. The tots I volunteer with enjoyed learning about the different train cars. They loved counting along with the child in the story. We enjoyed the gorgeously detailed 3D illustrations in this book as well. It was fun and entertaining read especially the rhyming parts.Engagement Activities -1. How many rhyme pairs can you come up with in one minute?2. If you can go anywhere in the world by train, where would you go? And why?3. What is your favorite part of a train?4. What is your bedtime ritual?5. Where do you think the train is going?6. What do you do when you can't fall asleep?
