Better than expected
I expected this to be trash. I needed an add-on to get free overnight shipping and thought why not. My friend use to have a recording studio in the attic where we lived and it was pretty well treated against reflections. He had a nice set up with even bass traps and stuff. Nearly 20k+ equipment in a college dorm. I knew I’d likely never have a setup like that so I got a Shure SM7b, which is a dynamic mic. It has great off-axis rejection on nearly every side except behind. This means it works pretty well in less treated rooms and is good at blocking ambient noise. I used to live in line of an airport and a busy Highway, so that was important. All this to say: I thought these would do nothing, but they immediately reduced reflections. My noise sounds less boxy and almost echo-y. A much dryer, crisp sound. I might buy more of these panels lol. A little goes a long way, but I didn’t really need to stop side reflections. Put a few of these behind and to the side of you and you’ll be surprised. I didn’t soak them in water or wait very long. They immediately popped up and seemed like the right dimensions. I left them a few hours and they looked the same. Basically zero smell. I left them overnight just in case, but they still looked fully expanded and didn’t smell. I used 3M medium command strips to hang them up. They are super light so that might even be overkill. But it was a lot easier and cheaper than spray or double-sided tape. These are a great value and for my purposes did more than enough. If you want something to isolate sound or sound proofing, this is not the product. But if you want to minimize noise bouncing everywhere, this is great. Plan to get a lot more than me if you have a bare room with no furniture or use a condenser mic.

Effective in absorbing the echo from the piano
We needed something to help absorb the big sound that was coming out of our Yamaha piano. Our piano tuner suggested using foam behind the piano on the wall and also in between the studs on the rear of our upright piano. We ordered this product and it was amazing how the two uses in concert together helped absorb the echoing and the glare that was coming from the piano. They are easy to use and designed a bit differently with those kinds of fingers that reach out and absorb the sound. Well worth the cost. The piano now sounds great.

Great product and price, BUT…
These are very nice but…a lot of them were damaged in the packaging process. Couldn’t bend them in shape no matter what we tried so we used those that were unrepairable and just cut off the bad parts for areas where a whole peace wasn’t needed. That’s the reason for 4 star rating. We used caulking adhesive to hang them.

A must have for room treatment.
I got this cause my F36 towers are rear ported and I can only have the speakers a foot away from the wall. The air pressure from the port would hit the wall with enough force that it made the wall vibrate causing lots of resonance and making them sound boomy making the sound a bit muddied. And it was real bad in the rooms behind the wall like headache bad. Anyways I tried the egg shaped ones but didn’t do anything then I saw these and gave it a shot. Boy I’m glad I got them. I put them behind the port 4 for each speaker 4 for the subs and they eliminated the problem for the most part. On a scale of 1-10 I say it’s 9.0 I am very happy! It eliminated the resonance making my speakers sound better. When they arrived they were compressed in bags but once I opened one bag they just bursted out lol. You have to buy two sided tape or something equivalent to stick them to the walls. I highly recommend these well worth the money!

Value for the money!!!!
I have a 450-capacity wine cabinet in my dining room (DON'T ASK!!!) It keeps our wines in great condition, BUT the compressor sounds like a UFO is escaping and a Stealth bomber is going after it! I put these Acoustic Studio Absorption Foam Panels up using 2 sided adhesive strips, and OMG!!!!!! These made a substantial difference in the sound level in my dining room. Also in the bedroom, the TV room and way over there in the kitchen. It keeps our wines in great condition, BUT the compressor sounds lie a UFO is escaping and a Stealth bomber is going after it!. Sadly, the next day was a day of ruin. The stupid 2 sided adhesive strips stuck to the wall.... but let loose on the foam tiles!!!!! They were all over the floor, and my blissful moment came to a vulgar end. After much research.... and several of those perfectly stored bottles of wines I came to the realization that all double sided strips, spray glues, and even glue guns will eventually fail. On the drywall side, or more often....actually ....OFTEN, they will drop the foam tiles. The internet consensus is that the best way to put these up... AND KEEP THEM UP.... is to use push pins, or thumbtacks..... DONE!!!!!!!

Good quality at an affordable price.
These foam panels work great for sound deadening. Much cheaper than most options while still providing good quality. I highly recommend them.

They’re a decent budget friendly option
These are okay panels. Not truly 2”, more like 1.75” at the highest point. I bought the 36 pack and I’d say around 4-6 didn’t recover from the packaging. So keep that in mind. They’re pretty thin, I wouldn’t consider them dense but they’re enough to help somewhat. Something is better than nothing kinda scenario. I ended up buying some 2” pyramid panels from True North and some bass traps along with these, and incorporating these into smaller diffusion “catch” panels around the upper part of the room. I was getting some reverb in the highs and mids and it seems like these helped a touch. You’ll have to figure the acoustics of your room out to make it work. Keep your expectations in check though. This is acoustic treatment, and to that end, it does help a little. It is not soundproofing. You’re not going to crank your stereo up to max and not upset your wife in the other room. You’re still going to hear your wife in the other room. These panels acoustically treat a room I.e., reflections and reverb. They don’t soundproof it.

I love these panels , so I've decided to treat the whole space. They do expand fine if unpacked and left over night. There is a bit of an odor that dissipates over a few days. I also like how they look on the wall after some 3M tape and some patience.
