Simple and easy.
Very handy. Charges my s24 with no problem. Its not fast. But it gets the job done. Holds phone very well. Base is very solid whether you mount it on the window or trim. Usb port on the charger is a nice bonus

Great device
This works great. Charges my phone. Holds onto it tight. Allows me to see where my GPS is taking me without having to hold me phone. I originally got it for in my prius but it doesn't fit well on the dash, so I use it in my yukon instead. If you have a smaller dash area, it may not fit well.

Worked for 6 months
1year update. I usually do not do follow-up reviews but I feel the product can be improved. sometime about 6 months ago one of the arms broke inside where it meshes with the gear. I proceeded to glue it back on, then recently about a month ago the other side of the arm failed as well. I could have let one side as a fluke but both of them tell me there is an obvious design flaw. To me the thickness of the plastic arms should be thicker. I think the clamping force on the phones is causing too much stress right where the gear teeth start on both arms as they both broke in the same place. I would predict that this failure will happen to most of these devices. I have super glued both arms and hopefully the bond will make the parts stronger. if it fails again I will try to post pictures. unfortunately this type of failure renders the unit useless as a charger and a phone holder because the phone will fly off at your first change in direction. Update to update. The super glued parts failed again. I would not recommend this device at all, they should make these parts stronger or out of metal, I'm willing to pay the $5 bucks more for a part that will last. As I am on my umpteen of these phone holders, what a waste of money Initial post : It has stayed on the windshield so far for a few weeks. It holds the phone well, the Qi works on iPhone 14 pro and S22U with the bottom extended. And the auto open works well so far. Real test will be through the California High desert summer heat we will see

COULD be the BEST Qi Charging Dashboard/Window/Vent Phone Mount on the Market
OK i've been driving around with this thing for a week now and absolutely love the thing. I wanted to share my thoughts for anyone in the market to buy a phone mount for their car and address some of the major points of concern for people as I've seen in the reviews. I did a fair amount of research into a phone mount for my car as my last vent mount crapped out on me, and I wanted one that would wirelessly charge my phone and had the auto clamp feature as well. Here are a few things to highlight about this mount: STABILITY/SECURITY: So far in driving around the bumpy, potholed streets of Chicago this thing has kept my phone very secure and stable once its locked in to the mount. This was a major point of concern for me as my last vent mount would shake around and fall off whenever i hit a bump. I use the iOttie as a dashboard mount, and with the little stabilizing plate that comes with it, the whole apparatus stays very secure and doesn't wobble around much at all when I'm driving. 5 stars in this aspect. Qi Wireless Charging: I noticed a lot of people complaining about the charging speed of this thing and other similar products. I would just like to remind all the complainers that this is a WIRELESS QI CHARGING phone mount. Obviously its not going to charge up your phone as fast as a traditional plug in charger. However, in my experience on the road (I do food deliveries, meaning my phone is on for hours straight with maps and other apps running) this thing gives me just enough charge for the whole day. On average I'd say i gain about 10% for every 30 minutes on the mount. This isn't bad considering you can always plug your phone in to an actual charger (using the lighter plug in that comes with this cord not included) if you really need a boost. I also use a fairly thick case on my phone and the charge still works. 4/5 stars Auto-clamp feature: This is one of my favorite features. The auto clamping arms are reliable and sturdy. Once you put your phone to the mount the arms automatically open and close after one second. The buttons on either side also work very well, you can push either one individually or both at the same time to open the clamps. Once inside the clamps my phone doesnt move around at all. 5 stars Installation: Fairly easy to install, directions that come with it are a little vague, but with time and a fair practicality I got everything set up in 30 minutes. It only took this long because it recommended letting the dashboard stabilizing plate sit for 15-20 minutes before placing the suction cup on. Highly recommend doing this. 4.5/5 stars Overall, this thing was worth every penny. The versatility of installation methods gives you the option to hold your phone in whichever way you choose based on your cars set up. The clamp is reliable and secure even in bumpy off road conditions. The charge is consistent and although not equipped with lightning charging speeds, it gets the job done. Highly recommend!

Awesome (when it works): internal solder break w/ battery
So this is the second phone holder of this type I've bought. I got one for my wife last Christmas and had to suffer with my old holder an appropriate amount of time so hers still felt like a gift and not an afterthought. ;-) ... but really, hers has been a champ and it's a nice little device! Induction (not but not magnetic/mag-safe), the alignment on the bottom + side squeeze means it almost always charges fine but there are some good/bad/unavoidable issues. #1) Quality control isn't great! Lots of people complaining "it doesn't work", blah blah. I ended up buying one used (from amazon) which was return-scammed as a "non-motorized holder" in the return box. Oh well, sent it back, rolled the dice, bought another used one and had to replace the Car/USB adapter b/c that didn't seem like it was working (no big deal, just used a different USB cable), and I also got bit by the "doesn't want to open the jaws after the car is turned off". #2) ...so I opened it up, figuring it was a dead battery or something (as someone else had reviewed/reported/suggested). Bought a little pack of rechargeable CR2032's (I believe) and figured I'd just replace the battery... maybe it was old stock, dead batteries, it's been known to happen. Batteries arrived so I opened it up again and whoomp... turns out it was a broken solder joint from the battery-to-circuit-board. #3) ...there are some fundamental issues w/ the product! Because it's designed for use in a relatively high vibration environment, it's possible that it was working for a bit and then got "jiggled out of place", which is why some people are saying "it stopped working after a month". Very probable that some solder joint busted loose from vibration. #4) ...magnetic charging (by the laws of physics) heats the phone up a bit: In Texas, in Fall, I've gotten at least one kind of "charging paused due to thermal throttling" message. In a typical "bottom-plug" charger, I've very infrequently gotten that message (GPS, long drive, sun directly overhead hitting phone, etc). But if you've got the heater going near the air vents (blowing on the phone) and then sun/magnets/heat... just know that having a regular "backup plug" vs. counting on the magnetic charging would be wise. #5) vent mount sags downwards, cd-mount wobbles quite a bit. Again, kindof unavoidable design flaws in a way. The vent mount is pretty darned good at staying attached, but it does put a lot of weight/stress on the vent-fins. On my wife's car, I got a "long enough" screw and replaced the bottom screw so that it ended up as like a support-bracket to lift the phone/charger "up" and didn't sag so much on the vent. Plasti-dip / silicon tape on the screw-head (any kind of plastic-y bumper would be fine) so it's not scraping the dash, and I'm a lot happier with that setup. On the CD-mount, maybe that same trick would work and help a bit, but I'm very much considering just screwing some sort of bracket directly to the dash "in the right place" so it's more solid/stable, less wobbly, and put "in line" with the instrument panel, GPS, etc. TL/DR: Wife's has been great! Mine, I needed to do a solder-repair on the battery-to-circuit-board clip (not hard at all, but not for newbies). In all cases, extra support/attachment would be very helpful, but you'll get the best outcome if you specifically DIY for your car and use-case.

Easy to install and works great!
The best phone car mount I have tried! It was easy to install on my windshield and it seems to be sturdy and stable. I love how there are buttons on the side that automatically push the phone holders inwards to firmly hold your phone in place. That way, my phone is not going to fall down in the middle of driving. The wireless charging works great, even with my phone having a heavy/thick otter box case. The cord is long enough so I was able to run it from the left corner of the windshield to the cigarette lighter in the front console. Just be aware that phones can get very hot with these types of chargers, so on longer or hotter days, I just unplug the cord so it’s not charging but still mounted.

Require requires constant power to be efficient
Everything works as it should on this mount. There’s one fundamental problem if your USB port turns off with the ignition key, you cannot get your phone out of this charger without forcing it once you’ve turned the key off. I grew to absolutely hate this charger. I dislike it so much that I replaced it with a MagSafe charger and threw it away. Initially I loved this charger. It’s very cool how when you put your phone up it opens up and let you set your phone down and then closes around your phone. It’s kind of a neat gadget thing. Over about two months, I noticed I was throwing my phone on the passenger seat and not even using the mount. My son has the same amount and loves it. His USB port is powered all the time, so no issue.

Works exactly as advertised, seemingly very good build quality. Would recommend.
This is one of the better quality phone mounts that I have seen or used. It is definitely a bit expensive compared to most other car phone mounts, and this is the first time I decided to go with a mount with built in wireless charging and I was not disappointed. I'm using the dashboard/windshield mounting version of the product. Other mounts of this style that I have used in the past usually end up having some free play in the suction cup base or in the pivoting joints that let the phone and the whole arm flop and bounce around a bit especially when trying to use your phone while driving on rougher roads which can be irritating to say the least. This iOttie mount on the other hand is very solid, using the plastic dashboard mounting pad this thing is firmly attached to my dash and with all the picots tightened down snuggly my phone down not move around at all even on the roughest of PA roads making it very easy and safe to using while driving. It's only been a week so far but the adhesive on the dash mounting pad and the suction cup base is very strong and stays firmly in place even on hot summer days when the inside of the car is like a sauna. The arm on the mount is extendable however it does not extend quite as far as others of this type I have used previously, although it is still long enough to be used comfortably. The charging cord that it came with was long enough to reach from the mount on the dash and into the power outlet in my center console while routing the wire our of the way with cable management clips. This QI charger is able to fast wireless charge my Samsung S22 Ultra through an Otterbox defender series case with no issues at all. The bottom "foot" of the mount that the phone sits on is adjustable up and down for wireless charging, with it adjusted up for smaller phones my S22 Ultra still fit in the mount perfectly fine but it did not start charging like it should so make sure to have that set up correctly for whatever size phone/case you have. The back of my phone does get a little hot from this charger compared to my usual Samsung wireless charging pad, I am hoping that does jot become an issue in the future. I am still a little skeptical about the auto open/close, it opens and closes flawlessly like it should and gets a really firm grip on my phone when closing on it. I actually think it is very cool but am not sure how the open/close mechanism will hold up say a year or 2 from now but only time will tell. Overall this is the best phone mount I've used so far and I think for convinience and comfort alone it is worth the price.
