nice and simple
As with other Kreg pieces I've used this worked great, was easy to use, and priced right. I used it straight out of the box on a medicine cabinet I am working on and it worked exactly as advertised. The bit and depth stop worked great and produced nice, clean holes. The spacing on the holes is a little tight in my opinion but that for me is just a matter of the look I prefer and not a demerit on the jig. The jig itself has hardened steel holes so it should last a long time. The jig also features storage for bits, the stop collar, and the indexing pin, which may sound like no big deal but is great for keeping everything where it's needed. Included is a coupler if you wanted to piece more than one jig together but in my opinion you only need one jig and using the index pin will allow you to drill accurate holes throughout the entire case. You can get more expensive jigs with indexing for both sides of the case which will save alot of time but you will also be paying at least double for the privilege. All in all a great product, priced right, and easy to recommend to anybody looking to make some adjustable shelves.

Superbly convenient way to drill perfectly spaced holes for adjustable shelves!
The KREG KMA3200 Shelf Pin Drilling Jig is an awesome, easy way to drill perfect 1/4" diameter shelf pin holes. I've made plenty of shelf pin jigs from wood in the past that have worked well, but over time, the guide holes in DIY wooden jigs lose their tight tolerances and need to be replaced. This jig has steel bushings to guide the bit that will probably never wear out, even if you make a lot of cabinets/shelves on a regular basis. The jig is designed so that, depending on which edge of the guide you lay against the cabinet face, the holes will line up 1" or 2-1/8" back from the face. The holes are 1-1/2" on center, allowing plenty of adjustability in the resulting shelves, and the included 1/4" drill bit has an easy-to-adjust stop collar so that you can set an exact, repeatable depth for each hole. An indexing pin allows you to move the jig progressively up the line of even the tallest cabinet, lining it up with the last hole drilled to maintain exact spacing. All in all, this is an excellent accessory for anyone who builds cabinets or other storage solutions that require adjustable shelves. I put off buying it for a long time because I had figured that $30 was a lot to pay for something I can make myself. In retrospect, I should've bought it long ago, as this jig is quicker and easier to use, as well as much longer lasting, than any of the (many) wooden shelf pin jigs I've built over the years. Highly recommended!

Very handy tool
I have not used any other commercial shelf pin jigs, so I can't compare, but this one works very well and it's so easy to use. Used it on a pantry I built and before long I had all my holes drilled, all in the right spots. I like how it works either against a piece or on the edge of. So simple to use. Set the stop collar on the drill bit, there is a gauge on the back of this jig to maker it easy. Put it where you want to put the holes and drill. Need more, just insert the index pin and move the jig to the next set. You could drill holes forever. Even though it's plastic, it seems to be very tough plastic. And with the metal insets for drilling the holes, this one is sure to last longer than me. It even comes with a connector to you can connector more than one jig. I also like how everything stores under the jig, well almost everything. There is a place to hole the drill bit and indexing pin. Only thing I could not find a spot for is the Allen key to tighten the stop collar on the drill bit. Did they forget? Not a biggie. Only thing I noticed, I did not get the cleanest holes. Don't know if it's the bit or the plywood, or both. Course that will be covered with the pins and shelves anyways. Sure you could make your own shelf pin hole jig, but why, for this price it's hardly worth your time making something from scratch. Very happy with my purchase, would buy again.

The jig is very useful and speeds up the process of drilling shelf pin holes. Be warned there are both 5mm and 1/4" versions - for the UK, you probably want the 5mm version (this was the 1/4"). The 5mm version has a stepped drill bit, if you get the wrong onr you can purchase the other drill bit separately. Using the jig is quite straightforward. I found that I needed to go back over the holes a second time with the drill bit (in18mm ply) to clean up the holes. The pins were very tight as there was some tear out from the initial cut. The accuracy of the jig and holes was good enough for my shelving units. If you were making kitchen cabinets, you'd need to spend more time taking a reference to ensure all holes were aligned. While you can store the drill bits and guides within jig, the connector piece, screws, and allen key cannot be stored. This might be an annoyance for some as those parts could be easy to lose. Overall another good product from Kreg.

Used this jig for drilling adjustable shelf pin holes. Saves a ton of time trying to measure the pin holes by hand. Very accurate, and after using it once, you’ll never regret the purchase
