Hem Celestial Incense Variety Sun Moon Star Planet Galaxy, 100 Stick

This is the second time I have purchased this incense, to go with my fancy new wireless headphones and crystals I have just ordered for meditation, and they have not disappointed! I purchased these mainly because of the low price, however, these are a few of my all-time favorites from HEM, including "Moon" which has been a favorite incense of mine since the early 2000s! Each box contains 20 incense sticks. Each stick is handmade in India as stated on the box, and these sticks are approximately 9 inches (23 cm) long. The BURN TIME is a whopping 30 minutes or so (approximately) per stick. It is very difficult to describe fragrances in writing, however, I shall do my best: Planet: Smells a bit like sandalwood and sage, with a hint of cedar in the back. It is actually very "earthy" for a celestial incense (get it?) but this one is AWESOME and I love burning it. The Sun: Extremely relaxing!! I love to use this while I'm meditating. Again, very earthy, but smells of real incense resins such as Copal, Frankincense, and Dragon's Blood. There is another note in the background I simply can't place, but it is sharp and fresh along with the scent of Copal, and possibly Frankincense and Dragon's Blood - it is very musky in a great way. I HIGHLY recommend this scent, my second favorite in the set after "Moon". Moon: My favorite incense for over 20 years, and one of the very first HEM incense fragrances I ever smelled, this one remains my all-time go-to for meditation incense. It is a very mysterious, white-musk type of fragrance with mellow undertones. There is almost a sea-spray type of fragrance in the background. It's very fresh and uplifting and works wonderful for meditation and relaxation - or just to make the room smell nice! Galaxy: This is the kind of scent that a person will either love or hate, it is VERY heavy on the florals, especially rose. It has perhaps a faint whiff of sandalwood and jasmine in the background, but it is predominately rose. I am not a fan of floral incenses, so this is probably my least favorite, but I have a friend that I know that would LOVE it as a Yule present! Star: This is easily another favorite of mine - and probably the most difficult to really be able to describe. I can say that out of many friends and family of mine who have had the opportunity to smell it, not one person did not love the fragrance of this incense. Not overpowering at all, but certainly smells WONDERFUL!!! My best guess at a fragrance is cedarwood, sage, and perhaps a hint of white musk with lavender. It easily ties for my favorite one from this set! I hope this helps you decide whether to purchase these or not, and I certainly enjoyed them and thought the value for the money was really good. Also makes a wonderful gift. Some of the fragrances also work very well when being burnt together such as Star and The Moon or The Moon and The Sun. None of them have the scent of burning wood, or burning leaves, and have nothing but pure fragrance - the smell of smoke is literally barely discernable! I highly recommend this set of incense sticks from HEM. Never disappointed after 20 years!

HEM delivers some truly intriguing and thematic scents. This box is no different. I've ordered it two times in recent memory, and the degree of quality-to-quantity is fairly consistent across the board. Space and astral bodies are a hard thing to "capture" by normal means, but these incense are very classic and distinct-- serving, in functionality, as very nostalgic and captivating smells. The aromatic achievements on display here are at the very least noteworthy, and at most awe-inspiring. I'd say objectively, these remind me of a public library or an older relative's house. Now that I've got the objective opinions out of the way, here are my subjective descriptions. The sun is warm, bright, and suitably spicy. The moon is pungent, sultry, and smells like smooth jazz or a sweet cigar. The star is curious, not evoking anything in specific, but remaining weirdly familiar: notes of old paper and amber dance about within the smoke. The planet is a grounding, naturalistic scent. One that is probably ideal for a laundry area or wash room. Lastly, the galaxy is a grand and idealistic kind of incense. It tries at achieving a wistful, ethereal aroma that definitely isn't for everyone.

A variety of wonderful scents for a great price! I bought this because I already loved The Moon and wanted to try out the rest. My favorite is The Planet because it's the most sweet-smelling, followed by The Moon, The Star, and Sun. I couldn't bring myself to light another one of The Galaxy. I'm not great at describing scent notes, but I can tell you it smells like some sort of animal urine. 😭

Wow just wow, I didn’t expect this to be that amazing but boy was a wrong. The EL Planeta scent is sweet and mellow so if you don’t like sweet scents then this one in particular you most likely won’t like, it kind of reminds me of vanilla. They burn very slowly so these should last you a long time unless you use them all day long.not that this is important but this is good for people who smoke in their house because the Incense covers the smell up. I would recommend you to place it on a shelf or something because even though it has a nice smell it doesn’t spread that well but I have a fan on and windows open so maybe it does but I still love them. The Sun scent reminds me of burning wood. The Star reminds me of random flowers that you find. It has a mellow smell that almost reminds me of lavender. The Moon is really hard to explain. It’s like burning wood but it’s not. I’m not saying it’s bad because it smells nice but it’s definitely not my favorite one. It’s more of a earthy smell and it’s kind of strong. The Galaxy smells like wet cardboard but not in a bad way. It’s not my favorite but it’s more earthy like the moon scent. I will definitely purchase these again.

For the money, you can’t beat this sampler set! All of the scents smell good, some more than others. I really like the Sun scent and the Galaxy scent. Sun is the least sweet smelling in my opinion, the best option for mediation (more on that later). Galaxy is floral but not too sweet and has a very natural, fresh smell. The others are a little sweeter and more musky but still smell good. **If you are looking for meditation incense this may not be the best option for you. In my opinion, it is best to spend a little more money for some natural incense without a bamboo or wood stick. The incense sticks in this set are pretty sweet smelling and I find earthy scents - less sweet and more natural (wood, floral, spice) - to be more suitable for meditation.** With that being said, I love this incense set for everyday, recreational use. While I may not meditate with them, I enjoy the smells! I have already placed my second order. Hope this helps!

You can never tell what you're going to get when you order incense. It's a crap-shoot! This selection, however, is 100% perfect. There isn't a single scent that smells like the cheap stuff you find in discount stores. Top quality all around!

Like(s) - Scent lingers (long after being extinguished) - Each incense burns for roughly 30-45 mins - Pacakged speperate Dislike(s) - Incense sticks vary in thickness. Each stick is made of wood which vary in thickness. I have attached a photo of this inconsistency. This issue made placing the incense in the holder difficult/impossible. If you are looking for a clearing, woody, incense mix... this is it! Warm notes like sandalwood and frankincense are combined with soft florals to create these various scents. Nothing too floral, nothing too earthy.
