Remember to cut the track if you want an unun!
That's the headline. Make sure you use it in the right configuration. For a random wire antenna you want to aim for a 450 Ohm resistance at your chosen frequency dips, so that it transforms down to 50 Ohm. Don't use a half-wave at a chosen frequency! I am not sure why a 9:1 would be useful as a balun, as a loop would be more 4:1, but if you don't cut the track underneath it stays in a balun configuration. You can also transmit through these, not very much, but you can. 0.25W is the rated maximum for the transformer on the PCB, which is enough for WSPR. I managed to get out quite far with this, but definitely don't push it too high and keep your volume levels down to get the desired power.

Very good 1:9 balun
Well made and works well. Would prefer a thicker PCB to be used, as this one is quite thin and flexes.

9:1 (1:9) HF Antenna Balun
Had this a while now and this 9:1 balun works ok, I would not say it is a five star item, but it does work as expected and I use it on a wire antenna.

Good for price
Does what it says and reduced noise

Using with SDRplay RSP1, that was given to me by a friend. I was skeptical at first of the One Nine and was pondering a quick return to vendor due to no case. I rigged an old RX bottle to house the OneNine that works. Upon set up and use for 10 days and nights on all Bands in all conditions I was intrigued . I had a Ham friend stop by with an Antenna Analyzer and we hooked it all up to my 50 foot end fed long wire antenna that's about 30 feet off the ground and It resonated extremely well on all Bands, 10m-40m and shortwave as well. We tried it without the ground as some thought it's not needed for receive only, Trust me the Ground made a Huge improvement in reception and lowered the noise level. All in All, very satisfied with this product for my particular setup and region.

Added this balun to my home made inverted V dipole and the results are amazing. Much less noise in the lower bands and can pull out those weaker signals a lot better now.
