Nearly identical to booklet provided in test center
Update: Just as I was told by a classmate, this is nearly identical to those provided in the test center my profession used. The dimensions and texture of the pages, right down to the grid lines is the same. The only difference is the color; this is a brighter yellow, vs. the buff yellow at the test center. I practiced with this a lot when I was getting ready for my exams, and then I loaned it out to other classmates as they prepared. It is nice to have the feel of writing your notes and tables on this before the exam; it helped me to feel more prepared, vs. writing on paper. Since the exams were timed, it was critical for me to have all the mental preparation I could, and this made a difference for me. It has also been durable, still in good shape after being loaned to probably a dozen people over several years. The pen that easily dries up is annoying, but that is exactly what happens at the test center as well. I purchased locally Staedtler Fine Tip Wet Erase pens, since I spent many hours practicing and perfecting my "download". Staedtler was not the brand that came with my booklet, nor was it the brand that was provided at the test center I used - I wish it had been on both counts, since it is much better quality.FYI - I recommend asking permission to check the pen at the test center before you are seated, to ensure it writes, and not cost you precious minutes getting a replacement. One proctor allowed me to check, one did not, and sure enough, that pen went dry.-*-*-*-*-*-*-Original reviewI haven't taken my exams, but I understand this is identical to what will be used by examinees. And as I have heard from classmates, the pen dries out quickly, just as they do in the exam.I need the tactile practice for writing out my reference notes in the exam, so this is exactly what I want.

A very helpful (though not necessary) exam tool!
This is basically five long, spiral-bound, double-sided, yellow pages of laminated graph paper (and a marker). It is awkward to use at first, which is exactly why I endorse it here. Speed is an important factor in doing well on the GMAT, and unless you use a dry erase notebook in everyday life, the unfamiliar medium will slow you down if test day is your first encounter with it.I was originally planning to give it four stars, with the -1 because I consider this product to be a nice *supplement* to a broader GMAT prep effort rather than a *required* element of said effort. However, as I think about it more, the product actually does exactly what it is supposed to. It is a VERY close approximation, if not an exact replica, of the actual book provided at the test center. This product is essentially a low-cost option: It is very likely that you will have a smoother testing experience by practicing on this, but even if it doesn't help you at all, it is a low wear and tear item that you can most likely re-sell close to full value after you are done with it (which is exactly what I did).Good luck on the GMAT!

Notepad with marker
Came without a marker, which defeats the purpose of buying. Misleading info as description says "witb marker"..Total waste of time and money.

Great desk-side scratch pad
I love this thing. I bought it for GMAT practice (it's what they give you for scratch work at the test center, and it's a good idea to have used one before the test), but it's just a terrific scratchpad to have on my desk. It's especially useful when you're on a phone call with a service desk and just want to jot a couple of temporary things down. It's also good for doing little bits of arithmetic for expense reports or to-do lists for the afternoon. It cleans up with a couple of paper towels, one wet and one dry; however, WARNING: Be *very* careful about what surface you clean it on, because the ink will badly stain things like quartz counters and can be very hard to clean. I put down a section of newspaper before cleaning it.

Great purchase if you want to "leave no stone unturned."
First question: Is it similar to the one provided at GMAT? The answer is YES & no (though the difference wasn't much, I'll explain).During my GMAT I was given two scratch pads (you can ask for it when you are completely filled the one you are using). The first one was exactly same as this one but second was nearly similar to this one, the build material was same, only thing was that it had smaller little black squares, and I being so used to my original one, it took a little getting used to it, that said pen was exactly same as the one I got in the actual exam. But, was this worth the investment or did it anyway help me? Well if you have always did your "rough" work on a paper using a conventional pen/pencil then you surely would need some practice/getting used to this pad. Its more like writing on a projector slide than on a paper, and it also sticks to your hand while writing. So, getting some practice before the actual exam helps immensely. Again, it may not make dramatic difference in your score but if you are the one who wants to prepare the best and doesn't want any surprises then you should surely go ahead with it.PROS:1. Build quality is (pretty much) exactly similar to the one in the actual exam.2. Pen is exactly like the one you'll get in the exam.CON:1. You get only one pen and once you are done with it, you are done. I couldn't find a suitable replacement for it.

Buenas, pero caras para lo que son
Funcionan bien y te dan una idea de lo que viene en el examen, pero son algo caras para lo que son. De todos modos las recomiendo.

Really good long lasting
I use these as a notebook for work and they are perfect. They wipe easily and are reusable. Specially when you want to have a personal brainstorming session with diagrams and all. This is the second one I've bought and they're really good quality the first one lasted me 5 years

Game-changing prep material. Highly recommend this to anyone seriously taking the GMAT.
Honestly. Buying this simulation booklet is game-changing. I was practicing using a black felt pen and paper and thought I was getting a feel for what the GMAT test is like. It's honestly nothing like the real thing. The GMAT uses laminated yellow paper and it's A4 size (the longer one, not standard sheets of paper). Getting used to the size of the book, colour, pen and paper layout are so important for the GMAT - I'm so glad to have bought this!Absolute must for anyone seriously taking the GMAT. Get used to the GMAT conditions - make sure everything is in your favour!I'm not really sure what other reviews mean by the flimsy marker? It seems to be a standard marker produced by Staedtler - flashback to elementary school projectors for when teachers wrote on laminated paper for notes! I have already researched the brand / exact model for when my marker starts to run dry. It's inevitable I'll need to replace the marker with all this GMAT practice! The marker is Staedtler Lumocolor Model # 316-9 BKV SKU 10027309. It's not currently available on Amazon, but you'll find it on google for a fair price - hoping Amazon stocks it eventually! There's a multi-pack of different colours available on Amazon, but you need black like the GMAT!

A must to be prepared
This is a must in an effective GMAT preparation. I think we often underestimate the effect of the environment on the final performance, however, being able to train in real conditions was definitely a plus for me, and contribute to my final score.
