Pace Edwards (SWD7833 Switchblade Tonneau Cover

I bought this after doing a deep dive on different tonneau covers and roll up covers for my truck. On my old truck I had a soft trifold cover, and it was fine. It did the job. However, the new truck I wanted something a bit more secure. I am very happy with the fit and finish of this unit and the install went easily enough for one person. There are a TON of youtube videos on how to install it and I found a couple of those very helpful. Really happy with it and would definitely recommend. Like others have said, it is short on features but when it is significantly cheaper than comparative models in this style, I think it is worth the money. I installed on a 2017 Ram 2500 and my tailgate locks with the doors and honestly, I'd rather have that than than having a separate key for it. Haven't tested in rain yet.

Great value for the money but the install can be a little tricky. Directions were not the best. Little bit of trial and error. Mind you, I’m pretty handy guy. But all said and done it fits great and does the job

This is my second switchblade cover on my second truck, I’ve always been happy with the quality, fit and function of the cover. I do think I prefer the all metal version over this one that has a metal frame but a vinyl like skin over the top of the metal. It looks great, but I like metal, we will see how it holds up long term. The cover was shipped without the proper end caps for the roll up top portion, but the seller (Midwest aftermarket) got in touch with pace Edwards and I had the correct covers within a week. Great customer service and I’d happily do business with them in the future.

It was easy to install until I tried screwing the top side pieces on. The screws went in with much difficulty and the cover never opened fully on its own even when pushing forcefully!The bed is dry and my gear is secure.

I’ve had this roll up cover on my Ram 2500 for about 6 months and it has been great. The out-of-sight, out-of-mind security method for keeping items in your bed safe from wandering eyes is nice, but the real value is being able to throw an entire set of beach day gear in the bed and be on your way. Likewise, packing the whole family’s luggage in the bed for a 4 day road trip finally let me make effective use of all this wonderful bed space! The roll back tension seems to have declined a bit since initial install and I ha e to help the cover back the last foot, but the convenience of the cover makes up for this deficiency. The roll up garage floats above the bed, leaving you about 18” of vertical space all the way to the front of the bed. This has been useful for low loads that require the full bed length. The icing on the cake is that my Reese 16k slider 5th wheel hitch fits under this cover with an inch to spare, saving it from exposure to the elements.

It really is a good rolling tonneau cover if you are looking for something more secure than true soft cover or the laughably easy to get into hard tri-folders. The installation is ok, no drilling or anything permanent to modify. The box was easily moved around and I needed no help. The rails though are finicky and only seem to want to be too loose as to offer assistance in rolling up or too tight and tending to bind up. Keep in mind this model is shorter on features. Namely it is only two positions (all the way open or closed), and to secure your bed you will need a locking tailgate (not a problem with my Ram truck as the tailgate locks with the doors). Don’t think that you will ever get waterproof with this type of cover, mind you it’s a very small amount that ever gets in and mostly when it’s snow piled on or standing water on it from a heavy rain, but if waterproof is vital to you then you’re going to need to keep looking. Otherwise I’ve had no problems or signs of break in attempts despite having parked overnight in some rather sketchy areas.

This is an awesome cover. If you need the whole bed it can be removed in about five minutes with only a Phillips head screw driver. Makes your bed secure and waterproof.
