HP EliteDesk 800 G2 Business Desktop, Intel Core i7 6700 3.4Ghz, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB SSD Solid State Drive, Windows 11 Pro (Renewed)

Back in mid-July 2024, I needed a new desktop PC when my Windows 11 hard drive suddenly failed. Through Amazon, Green Tech Computers offered a refurbished HP EliteDesk 800 G2 tower, Windows 10, 32GB RAM, 1TB hard drive, DDR4 RAM, Intel I7 6700 processor, for $204.00 … highly decent parameters for a hard drive in terms of memory and speed for such a reasonable price. It shipped promptly. I’ve been using it for more than a month now, and it works perfectly. One small issue arose today (August 24, 2024), which was not the company‘s fault. The tower came with a CD drive, and today was the first time in the last month that I needed to load data into a database from a CD. The CD drive did not work. As I went back online at Amazon and carefully read the product description, however, an optical drive was not to be included with this tower. The fact that the tower arrived with a non-working CD drive, while confusing, did not mean that the company failed to provide what was promised. Because a CD drive was physically installed with the desktop, however, Steven at Green Tech Computers graciously offered to send me a new CD drive at no charge. (We first tried to fix the one that was installed, and Steven took a fair amount of time helping me check the wiring to verify that it was likely a hardware issue that couldn’t be fixed.) I respect this company and would recommend it to anyone. I very rarely write product reviews, but I wanted to express my sincere appreciation in this case. The company went above and beyond what it was required to do to resolve the problem. It also has seven-days-a-week customer service by phone. I surely will buy from this company again if the need arises.

The computer arrived in excellent condition and works very well. It meets my needs very well and is a great value for the money that I spent.

I ordered this WIN11 PC to replace an older, very similar refurbished HP model that could not be upgraded from WIN10. This WIN11 PC arrived quickly and was wrapped impressively in form-fitted air-tube packaging. Included were a WIFI adapter, keyboard and mouse. I hooked up the unit and ran the Windows 11 set-up. Everything went smoothly. The computer runs flawlessly -- absolutely no problems at all. The WIFI adapter also works great. However, there are two negatives: first, the unit I received does not have a DVD slot (shown in the photo on the Amazon page and also listed as a component). Second, the mouse that came with the computer is cheap and difficult to use. The left button is difficult to press, and the right button is impossible. For me, the missing DVD is not a serious problem since I have an external DVD drive, but is is a real disappointment and a bit of an inconvenience. The cheap mouse is not an issue because I had another on hand. The photos I included show the front of my computer with no DVD slot and also the impressive packaging. I wish I could have given a 5 star review, but it didn't quite make it.

The first unit I received was DOA BUT a replacement was air-shipped and this one is working perfectly. MUCH faster than my older Win 10 machine and plenty of storage. Also much smaller.

The first one of these I received was shipped damaged. The front cover was broken badly, the case was bent. I just returned as is. The second one I received had bios errors, and needed a special repair disc. It would not start up and kept recycling until it finally quit altogether. I returned this one as well, and will not take another chance on a refurbished computer.

This was a great PC when I first got it last year. Everything worked great except for a few hiccups. Great value for money so I thought when I first ordered it but after having it a year I faced a few issues. I would lose internet connection on the desktop. The wifi on the desktop would literally disappear. So I rebooted the computer and that seems to fix it. But it would reoccur often which is annoying having to reboot all the time. I've updated via the Microsoft site with all the updates. The computer would freeze often and again... I would have to reboot to fix the issue. All of these issues occurred after about 6 months of use. I reformatted the drives and installed a fresh windows 10. Still the same issue. I'm thinking its a hardware problem on the board. Would I purchase this again... Most likely not. But I was on a tight budget at the time and it looked like a great deal but afterwards I found out that it was that cheap for a reason. Oh yeah... the hard drive that came with the desktop died. I had to replace that as well. Spend a little more money to get something better. Best avoid this set up.

Great computer for the price. It is 9-10 years old. Good performance just as it is. Wanted more, and had the parts so I added a standard 2 tb drive to backup the SSD OS drive and store data on. Onboard devices are adequate, but added a Sound Blaster 7.1 sound card. Note that the card showed up instantly in the device manager, but won't allow you to choose it as your default sound until you added speakers. Added 32 gig Crucial Ram. Going to upgrade the video eventuality. Very usable computer just as it comes. The refurnishing was well done. Only thing I found was dust in the DVD. Nothing to get upset about. And a pet peeve. Worked on computers since 3.1, and for MS for several years, and still think Windows 10 is a disaster. Someone is going to create a shell making it run like Windows 7 and make a fortune. I would, and already have recommended this to several friends looking for a computer. Update - About 30 days old now. One Display Port died. Had dual monitors connected. One wouldn't light up, said no signal. Replaced cables, tested with know good monitor, etc for testing. Monitor that failed on the Display Port works on VGA. Other working monitor does not work on failed Display port. Was planning on upgrading to another GPU. Not sure I trust rest of the computer, now. Update, again! Replaced the ram that came with the machine with Crucial ram, replaced cables. Display Ports working again.
