Don't even try to solder electronics without using this first!
I honestly don't know why I have been soldering without using this. Tip tinner is a total game changer when it comes to soldering. I was struggling figuring out how to re-solder some mouse switches onto a PCB and kept having issues getting the solder to transfer to the pad properly. It also took a century to heat up the pad. I watched a few videos on soldering and this was suggested in one of the videos. I thought hey it's cheap why not give it a try and MAN DOES THIS STUFF WORK! It almost instantly helped the pad take heat from the iron and gave me a perfect solder with flux on the first try, and I am not even good at soldering. It was so much easier to use than trying to finagle the solder wire onto the tip and having it drip or splash everywhere. I originally thought I fried a PCB trying to transfer heat for too long onto the pad and this makes it a 1 second operation. Here is some tl;dr- Pros: - Easy to use - Can tin your tip with one hand while holding something - Works like a charm and shines the soldering tip perfectly - More than enough product for projects. You only use a little bit on the tip of the iron. - Great price for amount you get - Small tin easy to fit in soldering kit Cons: - Maybe the tin is a little hard to open sometimes? - A little bit of dust fell out when opening the tin, but easily cleanable.

Must Have for Anyone Soldering
Restored heavily used soldering iron tip used for stained glass to perfect working order! My favorite tip for stained glass was getting dark and not performing well, thought I was either losing my touch, iron was going bad, or I needed a new tip. Alas, I didn't know you need to tin the tips once in a while after they get dark. This stuff did the trick and my tip is working perfectly again!!! Good stuff, easy to use. Will buy a couple more tins later when this one runs low. Must have for my glass studio.

Works as described
Keeps the top of my soldering device clean. Dip it in the Tip Tinner and then wipe the tip in a steel wool or on a wet sponge. It worked great! You will be able to use the same jar of tip tinner for a very long time.

Works well-use included double-sided tape
This is a fine powder. Product works well, but easy to spill. Make sure you use included double sided adhesive disc to adhere it to a surface or you will be spilling this as the top just comes off when you try to lift it up.

Good Tinner, Read these helpful tips, if new at soldering projects
loved it, does the work, and good value for money. For users new doing soldering project, these points might be helpful: 1. soldering iron tip has a tendency to get oxidized and turn black often, so don't worry. 2. clean tip using a brass based mild abrasive, at room temperature (no need to heat during cleaning) 3. Heat iron and gently apply tinner only at the front face or where you want your solder to stick. There is no need to dip the entire stick in the tinner. 4. you will see the dipped end become shinny as it gets coated with tin. 5. tip is now ready for soldering. Clean tip after finishing work 6. Lastly, you might need to redo tinning process again to keep it effective. Use good quality soldering wire. Happy Soldering :-)

Just the tip...
Great product, revives oxidized or "dead" tips in seconds. Please people, don't use this as a daily driver that builds bad habits and ruins good tips, use it as healing supplement for those oops I left the iron on too long moments. Not to retin your tip.

Looks good, no mess, and should do the job!
I received a small tin of caked Tinning agent with a pouch of drying agent and a circle of self-adhesive foam tape sitting on top of the cake. All wrapped in clear shrink wrap with a clear label telling me to "twist to open". Had no problem opening the tin and didn't spill a speck doing so. Other folks here who received a crumbly mess probably had their package pounded on mercilessly by the Delivery Service du Jour (YMMV).
