While I did love the style of this coat, that was all. My biggest complaint is that when I tried the parka on, I felt something jabbing me in the neck. I assumed it was a plastic tab or something, but after a couple minutes of searching I uncovered a sewing needle hidden in the neckpiece. Really upsetting! Beyond that, the coat seemed like it would be warm, but the workmanship was shoddy. The fleece from the lining was sticking out through the seams in several places. And finally, there was no ties for the hood. What good is a hood if it can't be secured to your head? One gust of wind and it's off. I do not recommend this product or the manufacturer. The needle in the collar should be a warning to everyone.UPDATE:While I can't change the experience I had with the coat I purchased, I can say that the customer service for this manufacturer is EXCELLENT. I received a message from a company representative very soon after my review was posted. This rep was so caring and compassionate about what happened. She apologized on behalf of the company and shared this statement with me: "I wanted to personally reach out to you to let you know that I have contacted the manufacturer and advised them that this is totally unacceptable. I have urged them to improve the QA in their manufacturing process or our partnership will be terminated." I was amazed at the personal contact and follow up on my behalf. I feel confident that this is a quality company and that my experience was not the norm.

RedX Canada Women's Parka Winter Coat with Faux Fur Lined Hood (Red, Large)I bought two coats sizes L and XL simply because I tried a lot of them and found that size L is too tight and was surprised. I still have a coat size L that I bought like some years ago and it still fits me. I am 5’8”, bust 39”, hip 40” and usually wear size 12 or L. I tried coats wearing shirt and sweater. Size XL was too big, too much freedom so I returned it. Size L. It was not too tight at chest area and I could move arms freely. I wish that it would be like half or inch bigger, something between L and XL would be better. But I decided to keep L size. Hope this will help somebody to make a decision.

I am 5'6" and 147 lbs with a long torso. I wanted a winter coat that was actually warm and long (my old coat was a short hooded wool with thinsulate lining that is just old and no longer warm; plus air leaked in through sleeves, neck, and waist). This coat looked warm, long and cute to boot! It arrived yesterday and I immediately inspected it and tried it on. It fit wonderfully even though I was dressed and had a fluffy house robe on. I wanted the coat to be a bit larger as I get cold easily and often wear layers. I ordered an XL. Because I'm long in the torso the cost falls to about 2-3inches above my knee. It is so much warmer than my old coat. There are these ribbed cuffs that will definitely keep cold air out. The hood is lined inside with soft faux fur. The seams were tight and there were no visible hanging or popped threads. I will have to try to remember to post after winter to see if it holds up. And the cost was very reasonable, especially so if it lasts through multiple winters.Update: I wore this co at all through the remainder of the cold season. Overall, I LOVE it so much! I did not find the back buttons bothersome at all. The guide still fit tight all season long. The coat was really, really warm. The only down side is how it wears over time. The double zipper that unzips top-down or bottom-up was stiff and cooperative ay first but loisened and became difficult to engage. I can never imagine why on earth anyone would want to unzip it bottom-up, and the double zips became SUPER annoying because the coat will NOT zip AT ALL unless you can get those 2 wiggly things to line up perfectly (and somwhow not wiggle after that point) to engage the zipper. More often than not, I skipped the zip altogether and just buttoned the coat down. Problem solved. Also, the zipper that holds the hood on, over time, would unzip slightly on its own, and I found myself constantly zipping it closed the last inch or 2ltwo by the end of the season (I will probably see a hook on it or something to leave it removable but also keep the zipper fully closed. But, still, that's not a deal-breaker for me.I would definitely prefer not to have the double zipper but I would still purchase the coat again in a heartbeat. Overall, it's a fabulous coat and I love it so much.

I was really impressed with the fit AND how it was made. Def warm enough for a real winter and I like the fact that there is a detached hood. I catch public transportation (city) into work and this is perfect for the fall/winter months of standing outside the bus stop. Very pleased with my purchase.

SO warm! Best coat I've ever had. I've always hated winter... Spring, summer, fall, you have to drag me back indoors. Winter? I don't go outside for ANYthing. Hated it. This coat has changed that. Now, I go for walks in the snow, sit on the deck to pay some attention to my outdoor cat, and now I walk from my car into work, instead of run lol. This coat weighs probably 3x more than any coat I've owned, which probably explains why it's so warm. The length keeps my butt and thighs warm also. I wish there were other colors though. I'm not a red person, and I'm tired of black everything in winter. Would have loved a pastel option!

My original review is below. Since I have been wearing the coat, the zipper is defective. If the zipper isn't started correctly at the bottom where there are two zipper pulls, it will unzip from the bottom up. Then I had the zipper pulled all the way up and when I tried to unzip, I realized the teeth of the zipper came apart a few inches below. This made it extremely difficult to unzip. Now, that section rarely zips correctly.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I was looking for a longer winter coat than what I had. This was perfect! It is warm and comfortable. The hood is wonderful when it is snowing, raining or windy. I like the fact that you can remove the hood. You also have the option to remove the "fir" around the hood, but I really like it. It adds to the great look of the coat.
