I have used this brand of instant yeast for several years. It has never failed me. A very good product.

It is what I need for our septic system.

I did a lot of yeast bread baking in my younger years, and retirement has allowed me to resume my love of baking. I had only used regular active dry yeast packets previously, but the virus has made it difficult to find any kind of yeast for baking locally! I found this yeast on Amazon and after a bit of research decided to give it a try, and I’m so glad that I did! My first foray back into baking was with bagels and they turned out so yummy! My research found that “Instant yeast requires approximately a 25% reduction from the amount of active dry called for, and this worked for me! I think I would have had a bit too much yeast flavor without the reduction. Although this instant yeast does not call for proofing, I did so anyway: it seemed a little less fizzy than regular active, but worked great regardless! The price for the amount of yeast is great and storing in the fridge or freezer should provide a long shelf life and lots of breads and donuts:)

Usually a a very good yeast, but last order took 2-3 times longer to rise properly. I have been buying this product for the last few years and it has been great, but this last order seemed like it was old or something since it really had a terrible rise while using it.

I bake my own bread, so I go through yeast rapidly. Therefore, I usually purchase a 1 pound, or a 2 pound package. My red star yeast seem to be less and less active. I really thought that one should’ve lasted longer in the freezer. So I decided to give this yeast a try. I keep my yeast in a storage bag in the freezer. So far, so good. I would not hesitate to use this yeast in the future.

Rises fast and makes good breads. Purchased May23, 2020 during pandemic. It lasted until today, May26, 2023. I kept it in small glass jars in the freezer the whole time. It was just as energetic as the day I got it. I purchased another bag today. It seems pricey but honestly it was only $5 more than it was 3 years ago. Not terrible. I tried the SAF as it was half the price but was not impressed with the little to no activity. I'm sticking with Instaferm.
