Organic Castelvetrano Pitted Olives, 10.6 oz

These are the absolute best olives money can buy in the US. They are very similar to what is available in Italy. Not overly salty/briney (like th dark green american ones usually are) AND...they have a snap/crunch to them when you bite into them. Not mushy. These are great for stuffing with blue cheese for Matini's.

There are lots of recipe sites that recommend this variety of olives. We found them mild and not salty but delicious.

Only recently discovered castelvetrano olives but could not find pitted version. This product fills the bill. Delicious! And perfect for including in recipes.

I have ordered these three times and these olives are really good - meaty, crisp, and not salty. However, seal on one of two jars on third order was broken, there was some leakage, and the olives inside were spoiled and mushy. For the price, that was hugely disappointing.

Great olives

I absolutely love these olives. They have dressed the right bite to them. I am Sicilian and very picky about my olives. These are super tasty just the right amount of brine… they sold grocery stores here in Los Angeles like Erewhon other grocery stores. The price is a little bit on the expensive side, but they are definitely worth it. These are great for snacking if you’re trying to watch your calories olives tend to keep you full and keep you from reaching for bad snacks.

I’m not sure who deserves the 1 star review but someone had an epic fail. I ordered 3 jars. They arrived in a huge box with a little wadded up paper, no bubble wrap, rolling around with a couple cans of black olives I had ordered. Another brand of olive I had ordered that came in the same box was bubble wrapped carefully and arrived in perfect shape. Someone really thought these didn’t need to be wrapped?? Really??? Amazingly no jars were broken but two of the jars arrived open, not broken, but open. The box was soaked and the lids and jars and olives were all just a-rollin’ around in there having a good ol’ time!! The seal was popped and lid was loose on the third. So all 3 jars are useless to me! How are the lids on all 3 jars loose enough to pop the seal in the first place?? Who would choose not to bubble wrap jars??? I have SO MANY questions! I did take my chances and eat one of the olives rolling around in the box. Stupid, yes, but these kinds of olives are expensive no matter what brand you get and the taste can vary greatly brand to brand and I’ve never had this brand before. It was quite tasty!!! I would gladly be a regular subscriber of the brand if they were packaged correctly buuuuut….Im not eating olives from a cardboard box!!
