We notice if we get too close the remotes don't function well, but we also have a small space - 3-4 feet should be fine.

Q: Do you need the wii motion plus adapter in order to interact with the initial booting of the system? i.e. language preference, region, time zone

No. My controller had the motion plus built in the controller even though it came with the adapter. Don’t tell amazon.

Q: Does it come with the sensor bar

Yes, it comes with all of the cords & sensor. It comes with one Wii motion plus controller, however it's one of the older ones where you have to plug in the attachment to the back of the controller, but it's included.

You might get lucky, I wasn’t

Console was in poor condition (floppy door) & didn’t switch on. There was no stand as indicated in the promo picture. Bad choice by me. The present that disappointed.
