Pure Spanish Saffron Tin, 1 Ounce (28.35 Grams)

Somewhat skeptical of the cheap, in the tin saffron. Lots of competitors had bad reviews, claimed it was weak in flavor = old and stale. I took mine right away from the plastic bag, and put it right into the old Spice Islands glass jar, which it completely filled. I use it constantly. Love the taste, and it wasn't stale. It was cheap and good; can't ask for more. Love it. But the container is a tin box (love the tin box for reuse as something else) and you need to get it right away into a glass jar to keep it fresh, because if you leave it in the original packaging (this is true of all spices) it will go immediately stale. The best spices come in minimal packaging, like the plastic bag that was inside the tin box. At the grocery stores here in New Mexico, the best spices are grown locally, are dead fresh, and come in a plastic bag folded over with a label stapled to it. As long as you keep them in mason jars (they come in sizes as small as 4 oz) they keep literally forever. Never keep spices in plastic, because they will go stale. So, in short, a great thing for the serious cook. If you're not a serious cook using it once a week or so, though, get yourself a small amount of saffron coming in a good glass jar. And when you fall in love with saffron, get this, and refill your jar. a glass jar and eat the cost.

It comes in a nice tin can. It tastes pretty good, blends well when cooking. Great price, better taste. I highly recommend it

I had never used saffron before but needed some for my new love, paella. I was worried that 1 ounce was going to go fast. One ounce is a lot of saffron so the price is really good for the amount you get. Tastes wonderful too. I'll definitely buy again, if I ever run out. 😊

High quality saffron, and very low price

This is saffron is soo delicious! And Fresh! I vacuum sealed the portion I didn't use for a while and when i opened it up it was just as fresh. And for the price, one can afford to have it around in the spice cabinet for a while! I will buy more very soon!

I am not going to comment on the quality, as it may be ok, I don't know and I don't really care. What is not ok is that instead of the advertised 28.3g (1 lb) it contained exactly 25.3g, 3.0g less. That's 10.6% less. If I can't trust them on something as easily quantifiable as this, I can't trust them on quality either. It amazes me when businesses do this. I would have probably paid 10% more, so why cheat?

Flavor and aroma indicate this is good quality saffron, and the price can't be beat for this quantity.

I have used several brands of Spanish saffron for many, many years. This is the worst saffron I have ever used and I suspect it is not the real thing. I expect a full refund for this item.
