A great study guide
Used this in the final two weeks before my exam. I had purchased his full book, and although it was well written, I only got half way through before my ADD kicked in. Used this book to finish up the material and passed with a 823 on my first attempt. Be aware that this is the bare bones and is used best as a study guide. This book could not be a stand alone for a novice. If you have the time and money, I would suggest reading his full book through, then following up with this one before attempting the practice questions. If you already have experience in networking the Passport could be enough. Personally, I am new to IT and knew that the passport was not enough to cover and understand all the objectives for Performance questions. But I guess if one were to watch Professor Messer videos on YouTube and read this, that would be sufficient.

A NO-FRILLS STUDY GUIDE FOR NETWORK+
A no-frills study guide for the CompTIA N10-005 Network+ exam. At a little over 400 pages, it's short and to the point. No background or history lessons in this book. All the exam objectives are covered, however, I would advise using this book in concert with other study guides. I like the Mike Meyers" series of CompTIA study guides, and I have read nearly everything he has produced. But I also cover my bases by checking with the competition. You never know, maybe another writer will describe a point just a little clearer, and that could mean the difference between understanding the material and total confusion. In my opinion, things like CIDR subnetting would be a little difficult to grasp if this were your only source. After all, the number one objective is passing the test.I give this short study guide five stars for content and presentation.

Like the other Passport series books
Like the other Passport series books, this offers a very condensed version of any Network+ book available, but a very easy to read and gives you exactly what you need to know to pass the Network+ test. It goes over many topics and requires a lot of understanding if you wish to pass the Network+ certification. There are a lot of other books to be had if you want more specific information, but this book is all you need for that certification.

Complete study resource! Just find a different book for the Security+ exam
With a little supplementation from industry experience, this book is all one needs to pass the Network+ exam. However, this book series is not so complete when it comes to the Security+ exam, which as an IT hiring manager with 10 years of experience, I highly recommend you earn the Security+ certification to compliment any IT career path, be it networking, support, security, programming, etc.

Great book and easy to read.
I'm preparing for the Network + exam and this book was the second book I've read on the topic. The author doesn't get lost in explaining topics or ideas. He keeps it simple and explains subjects with ease. I purchased this book after reading other reviews and I must admit this book will not disappoint you if you really use it.

Quick but detailed read.
Mike Meyers always seems to write in a way I can understand. All his examples are interesting and witty. I read this entirely on my nexus 7 via the kindle app with no issues. I bought his A+ cert guide and then this one. His passport series is written for a quick read to get your certification. I was able to read this in about a month while working 40-50 hours a week. It was a detailed read and it helped "connect the dots" when hearing networking issues at work. After reading this I have a better understanding and feel prepared for taking the exam. Take into consideration that I have worked in IS for 3-4 years and have got a lot of exposure to this type of material. Overall a great way to "brush" up on your network+ stuff before the exam. I highly recommend this author and his passport series. My exam is next week and I feel confident I will pass.UPDATE: Passed exam! Had some simulations that this book didnt prepare me for.

Excellent Summary of Exam Objectives
I have always loved Meyer's certification "Passport" series, and this is another incredible addition to my collection. Compared to other Network+ texts, this book is very lightweight, and laser focused. You could probably pass the exam using this book alone (with outside working experience), but the test covers A LOT of material. You won't get much depth out of the 400 pages here, but I was able to read it in about four days right before my exam, and I passed.

Good book...
This book is clearly written, and gives a good overview of networking technologies from physical cabling to IP addressing to frame types and WiFi. Not very in-depth, but great as a study tool for the Network+ exam, or for someone that wants to understand a bit more about networking technologies.

Just what I needed to pass
I studied and read the full Mike Meyers' book cover to cover and found it very easy to read and understand all the concepts, but found it hard to memorize all the facts like what port numbers are well known and how fast is a T1 line. After looking up on here I came across his Network + Passport and brought it straight away. It gave me just what I needed to pass the exam, only the facts I needed to learn while also being able to go over certain parts in brief. The size of the book meant it was very handy to travel with and I could bring it every with me instead of the full book which is very thick and fairly heavy to carry around all day. This book is a must and it goes very nicely with the full book. I recommend this book to any one wanting to pass the CompTIA Network + exam.
