Never too old to learn
I found the book very helpful. Going from an older laptop to a desktop with Windows 10, a touch screen, and more modern technology was somewhat daunting and the information I gained from the book gave me the confidence to try out things I had hesitated to do before I had read it. There were times when I found that what the book said I would see on the screen was not what my computer showed, but I understand that there have been updates and I was able to muddle through. On the whole I was quite satisfied and able to find out how to do the things I wanted to achieve. I might add that I did not delve into the world of apps. At 82 I am not in a hurry to get things done and am quite happy to do things the slower, surer way - with a web address.

Dummies don't define the person who needs this book.
I bought this thinking it would apply to those with old computers forced to buy new with windows 10. Very basic. I am tired of running into tech people who can't conceive the low status old computer users need. I haven't found the step by step answers to the questions I need answers for. Drives me nuts. I am not dumb but I guess anyone going from Windows 7 to 10 is outclassed by Dummies. I have friends in same boat. I am a 65 yr old senior who worked on computers all my working life without trouble. Write an instruction book for me!

A Must Have for Many Seniors.
I highly recommend Windows 10 For Seniors, for Dummies. This is the only computer book I have ever read that speaks English and not computerese. I have suggested it for my library and I am going to give them the money to buy a copy if they have not ordered already. It is simple but written so clearly. It tells you what steps to take and in what order.I am afraid the librarians will not realize how valuable the book is to those of us who did not grow up with computers.I feel sure young peopleWindows 10 for Seniors, for Dummies is a great book. It is simple and very clearly written. I have asked my library to order the book since I like mine so much. I plan to buy it for them if they have not already ordered it. Many seniors do not have computer literate husbands or children close by to teach them. I just hope the librarians and others do not slight the book.

This book does NOT make it any easier for us seniors to learn Windows 10.
I have read over 4 different books about Windows 10 now. My conclusion is I don't like Windows 10. For one thing the print in this book in places is too small to read. More color pictures may have helped. It's too difficult a book about 3 formats of 10 (tablet, PC, etc.). Overall I am VERY disapponted in this book. It is supposed to make it a lot easier to understand 10, especially for Seniors. I do NOT feel it does. I read 45% of the book, and I am giving up. After this read, I am staying with Windows 7. I really hate when Microsoft makes a major chage and forces US to learn what they find to be easy. Sure, for younger minds, perhaps, who grew up in this tech world of ours. The book here is NOT making it any easier for me to learn 10. A better laid out book needs to be published. NOT RECOMMENDED.

A great help for those over 20 who did not grow up with electronics.
This is a great help for those of us who are over 20 and and don't work in some form of computer programming; and think a computer really is alive on its own and plots not to cooperate with novices. We the reader expects simple points that are specific and this book does this. However it still is for those that are "Computer Savy". It could unfortunately be "dumbed down" just a little more. All in all it is a great help and is a must for Windows 10 - which is a great upgrade.

You can't go wrong with the For Dummies books and this one is no exception.
I bought this for a neighbor who got a new laptop and was struggling with Windows 10. I have always recommended the 'For Dummies' series for people with minimal computer skills throughout Window's evolution up to and including 10. Again, I stress these are aimed at people who need guidance in the basics of an operating system. They are always well written and easy to understand. If you are more experienced I strongly recommend the Missing Manual series for your particular application. I have volumes of those going back to Windows XP and always have one for whatever version of Office (or selected programs) I am using.

A readable and useful guide to Windows 10 for the non geeks!
Thank goodness for this book! I had to purchase a new PC quite quickly as my old one (running reliable and troublefree Windows XP for 10 years) died and of course, suddenly confronted with Windows 10 - I was completely lost! But this book came to my rescue; it is clearly laid out with a larger print size and each chapter takes you through the stages of setting up and customizing the desktop, working with Apps and getting the system to work for you. Another good point for us "dummies" is that it doesn't go into all the technical and confusing jargon - it just gets you up and running and using Windows 10 in no time.Well worth the money!

Windows 10
Very helpful to refer to when using Windows 10. I have it both on my tablet and computer and find it easy to use. It is at times easier to use this way than on the printed book copy.
