Everbuild Mammoth Builders PVC Tape – Flame Retardant – Black – 50mm x 33mm

This tape is very good and does stick well to dpm. Yes you need to rub the tape well, but dose stick after.

We found this pretty good to use on garden membrane, before we laid some artificial grass - it’s only a small area, not worth paving so grass and membrane is the answer. However it’s an odd shape so it was a bit like a jigsaw puzzle, cutting and taping everything. It all went well, although there was a dusty corner of the sheet which the tape wouldn’t stick to - I think the answer is to ensure everything is clean and dry before you stick this down.You get a big roll of this so it’s good value and can be used for masses of things - I do agree with my fellow reviewer though, the name and description inside the cardboard roll would be useful as once the outside wrapping is off, it’s hard to tell one black tape from another…

I would not recommend for bonding PE sheets, it just doesn’t stick very well at all, material is strong itself but that’s not the advertised function nor needed, quite disappointing. Value for money is none, mainly I needed this as better alternative to (cheaper) polytunnel tape, for roof as moisture barrier. Comparatively, the polytunnel tape does a better job (but far from perfect). Resorted to using large glue gun, it’s a superior solution.

Bit limited to what it sticks to.

My Vine sample of the Mammoth 50mm wide by 33m long PVC tape is OK for non-critical simple use on most smooth, dry, clean, warm, grease-free, plastic surfaces.However, it will not even attempt to stick to a felted or woven waterproof building membrane such as Tyvek.The adhesive is about average, much as one might expect for generic PVC tape. It does not work too well when very cold.Tape itself is a bit thick and stretch-resistant if one is trying to make it fit an uneven shape, but will be fine for more regular sealing jobs. Don’t try to tear off a bit, use scissors or a sharp blade to cut it.

Excellent grip on damp proofing. I used this for joins and repairs. Very sticky! Recommended and my first choice for this type of tape.
