Great update to classic GH songs
Bringing games from the first three guitar heroes and updating them for the full band support of the new games was an excellent idea. As a Guitar hero fan who missed out on the PS2 Guitar heroes, this game was a great buy. Guitar Hero Smash Hits had not only brought back songs for fans of the first three guitar heroes but brought the old songs to the younger Guitar Hero players who didn't play the first two on the Playstation 2. Though some say this should be a downloadable expansion pack, the GH games have price drops usually within a couple of months, plus there would have been the possibillity that the number of songs one wished to download would have exceeded the $60 pricing. Now at $30 dollars, this game is practicaly a steal considering how many of these songs I love to play both on guitar and Drums. A must buy for fans of Guitar Hero, especially with the dropped price.

Great Value
The list of songs on this CD are mostly awesome. Who can buy a CD, even by an artist they love, and love all the songs. I think it would be rare. Anyway. I like the fact that I was able to import them into my Warriors Of Rock list (hate the fact that Ms charges for that, though that has no bearing on the product itself). The price was right, and I bought one for my son too along with the Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock Super Bundle. He was very surprised and happy to have them show up. We enjoying playing online with each other as he is miles away from home now, in the service.

Love this!!!!
If you ever wished you could play Guitar Hero 1 or 2 with a full band or with the original masters, this is the game for you! It's simply awesome to relive some of my favorites. Plus, the notes are all redone. I think this is because these are original masters rather than some cover bands that Harmonix used for the original versions. It feels like going from the VHS version of Star Wars to a HDTV 7.1 version. Totally new way to experience it the way it was meant to be experienced. The only thing I hate about Smash Hits is that you can only import a few songs to Guitar Hero 5 or Band Hero. And some of the songs I really really wanted didn't make the transfer (like the Boston song and the Franz Ferdinand song). So I basically have to play Smash Hits totally separate from the other GH games. That's a bummer.

Not bad for the price
First off I want to commend the company I bought the game through, they got the game to my house with standard shipping within two days. So I am super happy with the condition and speed of the game. Now for the game at hand. It is just a compilation of past games which is what I was hoping for except they put 90% of the songs that I can't stand to play. They do have some good songs don't get me wrong like: Through the fire and Flames, Free bird, Carry on my wayward son, and Miss murder. The game is out dated visually but fun none the less. So for the price it's an okay buy.

From the Beginning to Now
This game simply put me through a time-capsule of my Guitar Hero career. I've started back when it came out for the PS2, Guitar Hero 1, all the way through until Rock Band was produced. It was a smash hit to go back in time for a moment and re experience the amazing music I remember from those days, in an era where lag is only as annoying as it's calibration, and hammer-ons/offs work to your skill level. The ONLY downside is the fact that they could of added a ton more songs... but the main ones were covered well.

Smash Hits Great for Older Rockers
I saw my kids playing the Guitar Hero games and recognized many of the songs included. Once I learned to play the game myself I started getting the games for the classic rock songs they contained. I bought Smash Hits to take to a party with some of our friends because it had the most recognizable songs from my generation. After one of my friends got the hang of the guitar controller, he was into it. Playing along with songs like "Smoke On the Water" and "I Love Rock 'N' Roll" brought back memories of the days when we could only play along on our "air" guitars. Loads of fun!

Great game and fast service.
I received this game at least 3 days before it was supposed to arrive, and it was in perfect condition. I would highly reccomend it to any one who has played guitar hero. Great game and more challenging than the guitar hero world tour. (Which means you can get even better than before)
