Zenith VN1ANTP2 Indoor Passive VHF/UHF Antenna

I received this today and hooked it up to my tv. The first channel it picked up while scanning was one I couldn't get with my old antenna no matter how many different ways I positioned it. I was very happy about that. It also picked up another channel I had trouble getting as well as all the other ones I watch. It also picked up many useless ones which I deleted. I'm happy with the fact that all the channels I watch are coming in without me having to move the antenna to different spots for different channels like I did with my old one. So far, so good, and I am very happy with my purchase. Great price too.

I live about 30 miles from the closest major network broadcaster. I hooked this little guy up to my TV, with no amplifier, and I was able to get 2 HD channels over the air. This was surprising, since the antennaweb site indicated I would need a directional powered antenna. If you live within a few miles of the television station, you would probably be fine with this antenna.In the end, I returned this antenna to Amazon because I got a much better signal using a powered antenna, but I still rate this 4 stars.The one drawback in my eyes is that the coax cable is integrated right with the unit - e.g., you can't unscrew the cable from the antenna to exchange it for a longer or shorter one.

The description states the Dipoles are 39" long when extended however they are only 20" long when extended. This means they will not work with low band VHF stations. They are only good for high band VHF and UHF stations.

As noted by another reviewer, the dipoles are only about 20", not 39" as listed on Amazon's description (as of the date of this writing). As a result, I found the VHF reception was a bit weaker than other basic antennas that had longer dipoles (such as the basic RCA antenna found on Amazon). Nonetheless, this antenna did a decent job despite the short dipoles, hence the 3 star rating.

I just got this today, and I have to review it. This is the best antenna I have every tried in my bedroom. We have awful digital reception in my townhouse, no sight lines, lots of trees, and no way to improve it. Because of the location, I can only get one channel, and that one is iffy. I hooked this antenna up, and I have gotten the best picture ever!. Did I get more channels? No, but the only way to get more channels is to get a very powerful outdoor antenna, and since I do not own this place, it is not practical. I am satisfied.

I am in Syracuse NY and was looking for a good indoor antenna to get the free HD channels on my TV. I bought one rabbit ear antenna from ebay. It sucked, I had to change it's position all the time to get channels.However this antenna worked very well for me. It captures all the HD channels. The analog channels are a bit snowy. But I dont watch em anyway.This is the cheapest and best working rabbit ears on market. Don't fall for the cheap ones on ebay, they suck.

I read the reviews and noted that some people said that the dipoles were less than 39 inches. I ignored those reviewers because one person specifically said that it belonged to the other Zenith Antenna. I should have heeded the opinion of the naysayers. The dipoles on this antenna were not even 30 inches. DO NOT BUY THIS ANTENNA. That is my suggestion/recommendation to anyone who is looking for an indoor antenna and live in an apartment, especially if you live in a big city on the lower floor. The web description is misleading and deceptive. Of course, I returned it.
