Great Card but Look Out for a Lemon
Update 1/14/15My original review below stands but I've downgraded my rating from 4 to 1 (even if people have not found my review helpful.) I've been building machines for years and never had so much problem with a graphics card.My freezing issue remained, so this started a text-tech support volley of having me uninstall, reinstall, uninstall drivers of every kind, checking voltages, and basically wasting my time. Finally, an RMA was approve but after reading reviews and forums about their process (spit polish the card before sending in, send in at your own expense (which should include insurance), wait many weeks and then when it's proved you had a bad card, get a refurb that by many accounts lasts minimally (some people report smoking and smells), I decided to eat the loss.I bought a Sapphire, dropped it in, and it's been performing like a champ. The bottom line is it appears the majority of XFX cards work well but if you get a lemon, you have to work hard to get a refurb replacement that may give you more trouble. I know that sometimes the problem is on the user end but at least when it appears otherwise, accept the loss and provide full support. XFX hasn't in my case.Original review (which notes how good a card it can be):This card has a lot going for it and I'll try not to cover ground that others have in their reviews. For context, I have an Intel i7 860 CPU (not oc'ed), 8 GB of DDR3 RAM, and an SSD boot drive running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. It's a self-built machine that's been rock-solid for over two years.Pros:- Great build quality. This feels very solid and appears to be well put together.- The reputation of XFX appears to be much better now that they've abandoned support for NVidia cards. I was hesitant getting this one after looking at forums citing XFX's poor quality a few years ago and lack of customer support. When I looked at another retailer's site, XFX reps were very active in both good and bad reviews, which means to me that they are much better at support now. And their Radeon cards appear to have fewer problems.- This has run all my games at maximum settings without a hiccup (though see Cons below for a caveat.) I'm not the high-end gamer I was but this runs Sniper Elite 3 (one of the free games offered by AMD) perfectly.- My temps are very low, even after maximum stress (Sniper, Furmark, etc.). It idles at 30 C and maxes at 40 C. My temps are lower than others here due to my truly fantastic Coolmaster 840 case. If it's still available, I recommend this case highly. Though it's the size of a small steamer trunk, its size and super quiet fans keep my components chilled on air alone.Cons:- Since installing it, I've randomly had the equivalent of the BSOD. Even when not playing games, the screen will freeze with a color pattern and only a hard restart will get me back. I've checked the Windows minidump and it doesn't appear to be an actual BSOD but there's no way of recovering without the hard reboot. And yes, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the appropriate drivers from AMD's website and my power supply is a Corsair 650 so that shouldn't be the cause.- This card is big. Besides it possibly not fitting in smaller cases, it takes up two pci slots.- It requires 2 PCIe power connectors and a beefy power supply. I know others have noted this but I think it bears repeating to avoid buying the card and not being able to use it.- It does not have a CRT input (maybe no cards these days do) and did not come with a CRT-to-DVI adapter. Fortunately in all my years of computer building, I found one in my parts kit.So-So:- It's very quiet at idle and low stress games but I've found it to be louder on high end games than others note here. It's not annoying but it's noticeable.Final Thoughts:All in all, I think this is a great card at a great price point, but my issue with freezing is frustrating. I will eventually try to work with their support to help identify the problem but for now, this keeps me from giving it 5 stars. I'll update if things change.

Lasting video card!
An awesome card for budget builders. I built a rig with this card, FX 8350 processor, and 8GB DDR3 RAM for about $450 and it runs GTA V, Battlefield 4, and various AAA games with no problems. I highly recommend this card. This card is very capable of running all of my games on ultra without any loss of frame rates and this is set at 1080p. It loses significant FPS after you surpass 1440p so if you want to max out your settings at anything higher than 1440p you will need to get either the 280X or higher or another 270X for CrossFire. I plan on buying another one and going with CrossFire to squeeze out more performance without buying a whole new system. The card is also extremely quiet. My case fans run louder than this card at max load. I've owned this rig for about 2 years now and have had no issues or need to upgrade! This card definitely holds it own over time.

In comparison to the other R9 270X's, I'm glad I chose this one!
Anytime you're building something you think price, Is it worth it?What is the performance like verses other cards in it's class?Go on over to fudzilla and look at the review on the XFX R9-270X-CDFCThis is how I based my decision. I have 2 of them running is crossfire mode now!A. This card like all cards these days is pricey, since bitcoin is driving up the prices on many things especially computer parts.B. At the right price I personally think this card beats out all the other R9 270X's out there. At least the ones with 2gb of memory.C. Although I really like running two of these cards in my PC, 1 XFX R9 290X would suffice.I have excellent air flow in my case at idle both my cards stay at 33.0 °C

Great card for ur buck!
This is a great card for the value. Right now I'm rocking with a msi motherboard i5 4690k devils cannon and 8 gb RAM and 850 watt psu. This card dose everything I could want all games I tried so far including far cry 4 on ultra setting at decent temps had it for a couple months now so far no problems I plan on buying another soon to split the power and hopefully cool it down a little.

Good video card
Don't expect to get much help with the four video games that are advertised to come with these cards. After many emails, I finally got the opportunity to download four games that are outdated, and tied in with the now shut down "Games For Windows". So I am not able to play the games. What a joke !!Other than the game download fiasco, this is a nice card. It gives great video when playing my racing games.

Perfectly acceptable, reasonably priced
It's an R9 270X card - no issues just about a year out from purchase. It runs most games at high or ultra settings, especially games a few years old. If you want 4k 144hz and ultra settings on the newest games, look elsewhere. If 1080p, 60hz and high settings are fine by you, you could do a lot worse than this card.
