Really good for building foundations
Bought it as part of a wide range of materials to support my son for his 11+ exams. We found this set to be quite good at building his foundational knowledge.

Excellent Set. These are going to really help especially with the school closures!!!!!
I won't waffle you with what this set contains. You want to know if they are any good and are they going to help your child. The answers is a most definite YES!My sons going into year 6 in September and having looked through these books with him there are LOADS that he hasn't covered. We had to use Google classroom during the last two terms and I can assure you all that he is behind in Maths and English. He won't be the only one and going back in September there will be a load of catch up to be done and this is where these books are going to be GOLDEN.Each book has rapid questions with examples to help and a progress chart at the back. Very well printed and easy to understand what's being asked for. Here's a tip though:PULL OUT THE ANSWER SHEETS!!!!!!!In each book are the answer sheets stapled gently in the middle. Pull these out for marking and to freshen up yourself to save embarrassment when asked for help :)I highly recommend these.

The book is great, It is a book well made to help kids study at home.
The media could not be loaded. with the recent change that happened in our normal life, Every Parent has became a teacher. To be fair, all parents are a teachers by Nature, but now, we have been updated, even though we had no intention to do so. It has been difficult for the kids, and difficult for the adults, to deal with those changes. My solution is to buy books, I've been buy more books now than ever, many people advise me to use computer, but computer can be a little bit too distracting.Books like this one's are very easy to understand, and they are perfect to study at home, it is full with a lot of exercises, questions and answers. It is a book well made to help kids study at home.We "the parents" need those answers to make sure we know what we talking about, I've been using this book with my niece and we are doing well.Unfortunately it requires a little bit of patience. The book is great

Great preparation for the transition to secondary school
This is a set of four ‘rapid test’ books by Schofield & Sims. The books cover English, Maths, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning and there are 6 books per subject. I am looking at book 5 for all subjects. All are aimed at 10-11 year olds. The English book tests comprehension, grammar, punctuation, spelling and vocabulary. The Non-Verbal Reasoning book covers similarities, analogies, series, matrices, hidden pictures, odd one out, reflected pictures, codes, combined pictures and nets of cubes. There are three sections and 18 tests in total in both the English and NVR books and 36 tests in the Maths and Verbal Reasoning books. Maths contains the whole gamut of basic mathematical principles including calculation, fractions, decimals, percentages, algebra, measurement, geometry and statistics. The VR includes synonyms, number sequencing, time problems, missing numbers and words, antonyms, match the codes, sorting information and so onThese are 10 minute timed tests and ideal as ‘bite size’. Examples are given, and there is a pull-out answer booklet in the middle with clues as to the answers given. The maths book also contains notes for parents and tutors and more comprehensive answers. Plus there is a progress chart at the back of each book. These tests are aimed at those taking 11+ for both CEM and GL areas and are great preparation for the transition to secondary schools.

Good helpful books- tests
I went through this books with my wife, as she is better at this things, and she said that there is plenty of stuff, she never seen our daughter been learning about. The Non-Verbal Reasoning is a total abstract to both of us as we didnt study in UK (Europe instead) and we never heard of it before.Any way, the books are looking good and have many questions with given answers so we can check and compare the results. Our child will be in year 5 soon so hopefully within this 2 upcoming years she will catch up with all this things (personally I think some stuff here no-one will ever use in real life, so what's a point torture kids with it ???). Logical thinking and perception, I guess, non-verbal reasoning teaches...I'm highly recommended the Maths book, there is many important things, tests with explained answers. Maths is my favourite:)English, Verbal reasoning, Maths and Non Verbal Reasoning, all of this test books have 40 pages, so not to much but from pupil point of view it's to many, I know my child ;)Overall this is good set of books which will be used within this 2 years for whole my family to help our child with her exams. For 16 pound it's good value for money.

Great to supplement your 11plus prep - esp for those not ready for full tests
A full mock test can be daunting for many children. This sets out a mini test on one area to help focus on where the child needs practice. You can choose which area they struggle with, for example in Maths it could be percentages. There is a test oer page in the Maths book so not too daunting. English is one double page per comprehension. Non verbal reasoning is one double page per test (all similar tests) and verbal reasoning also a double page. What’s quite helpful as a parent is that there is a track of the scores and some guidance on whether your child is meeting the aim in terms of time and score and what to do about it if they aren’t. That probably the most helpful point of the set as many other things can offer you a chance to practise, but few give you a guide to whether you are on track to pass.I suggest using these after you’ve been through some practise books but before any mock papers. It’s a good bridge. Also you could use these to brush up on areas they are struggling with after completing mocks.
