Capable microscope at a fair price
Ever since I started playing with Arduino components I always was annoyed by the fact that some are too small to see and always tried to squint away at SMD parts to figure out what they are. Always wanted to buy a microscope to use for this purpose and for soldering but didn't want to spend a large amount of money on one and the thought of carrying a wire with it as well didn't sit well with me. After putting off the thought of buying one for a long time, I thought I'd search again. And so, I found this neat little device. First of all, this comes in a simple box which contains the microscope, two stands, a micro-USB cable and some booklets. All you need to quickly start up with the device. It's obviously a generic device rebranded by the seller, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the images. This can definitely go quite close and it can be seen in the photos I've uploaded. This works with both cable and over WiFi. I have tried this on a few Android devices (Pixel 2XL and Galaxy S8 Plus) and on my computer. The app for Android devices is called Max-see and it's fairly simple to use. After installing the app on your phone, turn on the microscope and go back to your Android device and search for a WiFi hotspot called Max-see_#####. Connect to this hotspot and then go into the Max-see app and it should all work just fine. By default, the resolution is set to 640x480 I think, so change that to the Full Resolution. I have attached some photos of the device and things under the lens (square pixels are of my full HD monitor, round pixels are of my Pixel 2XL screen, beard hair, SMD components and some 3D printed layers ranging from 0.2mm to 0.07mm). Pros + Device is cheap, lightweight, and can be easily carried around. + Built-in light with brightness control + Built-in battery that lasts a few hours + Good magnification + Works both wired and wireless Cons - The stand could be better. As it is at the moment it's too short to use for soldering and you can't get a good vertical position on it. - Light could be a bit more powerful. - For maximum magnification, you have to be so close that the microscope touches the surface you're looking at.

Useful Tool
I ordered this to replace a very old USB digital microscope bought many years ago, which was no longer compatible with my new work laptop. That was a basic, but very handy bit of kit. I was therefore pleased to see things had moved on, and that this was able to connect to a Smartphone by WiFi, and didn’t need to be connected by cable. For the price, I wasn’t expecting too much from a re-branded generic Chinese product, but I was pleasantly surprised. The box was sturdy, and the sleeve was glossy and well printed, so it looked like a premium product. Inside the box was: the microscope (bubble wrapped in a cardboard divider, a charging cable, and two stands. The silver plastic stand is for charging, the metal silver one is to hold the microscope during use if required. The base is heavy enough to be stable, and it grips the microscope firmly. The microscope doesn’t arrive charged so needs plugging in (you will need to provide a USB socket adapter to plug it into the mains, as this is not supplied. Charging fully from an empty battery takes about 4 hours. To use the microscope wirelessly, simply download the See-max app from the AppStore or Google play. DON’T open it. Turn on the microscope and connect your phone to the microscope WiFi (See-max). Then open the app. Setup takes less than 5 minutes. There is a comprehensive user guide printed in colour which explains everything. Then you are all ready to view the microscope images on your Smartphone. The images are very clear and HD quality. They can be captured on the Smartphone as videos or .jpg images. I carry out a lot of inspections of metal surfaces and surface coatings. This microscope is perfect for these tasks. All in all, good value for money and a useful tool with good functionality.

Convenient replacement for an old-fashioned hand lens
I use this for looking at mosses and liverworts. Better than a hand lens though no replacement for a proper dissecting microscope. I like the fact that the image is transmitted wirelessly to my iPhone using a built in tiny local network so that I can have two hands to move the specimen around using needles while looking at the image on the iphone. Such manipulation needs practice though. As usual the instructions were not written by a native English speaker, so some intelligence is required in supplying missing details. Altogether worth the modest investment for a useful and competent but not outstanding hand tool. Works with ios 13 and maybe some earlier versions and platforms but I haven't tried.

It is a microscope!
This is really cool little microscope. As an adult. I have so much fun with it. Anyone i show this to is mind blown and the fact how cheap this is. I like to look at the world in a different way and this does give me that edge. I carry it in my pocket all the time lol. My little daughter who is 5 is getting this on her birthday too. And she loves the one i have. She really comes with different things to look through it everyday!! Amazing how this little thing makes me smile everyday. And it does work like a microscope. Dont expect this to be as good as a big miscroscope. You wont see any atoms or molecules lol. But you will be surprised how zoom in it can go.

Poor Quality and broken.
Package arrived in a very quick delivery time which was great! The outer packaging was very damaged and so was the inner packaging. The item looked to be ok inside the box, but when removing from the box the microscope body just fell apart. I decided to test it anyway as I thought maybe I could just glue it back together. The zoom function does not work so I have a microscope that currently only has a fixed X50 minimum magnification and something that just keeps falling apart when handled. Not a good experience! When tried to use the return this item button I get a message saying this item cannot be returned?!?!?!? NOT HAPPY!

Christmas is almost here, and I have been on the lookout for a good gift for my nephew. He is in 4th grade and is very intelligent for his age. I always try to find gifts that are challenging, educational, and fun. This Wi-Fi Digital Microscope hits all the marks. I can’t wait to see his excitement when he opens this up. (I know that he will love this because I have been playing with it myself!) This is very easy to setup: just charge the microscope, download the app from the app store, connect your phone to the microscope’s Wi-Fi. Couple tips here – you need to connect to the Wi-Fi that the microscope exposes - it is not Bluetooth. Also, I noticed that the Wi-Fi connection did not appear if the microscope is connected to a PC’s USB port. After charging and setup is complete – your all set. I have an Android phone and after charging the microscope, I easily connected it wirelessly connected to my phone. This is great because you can it anywhere – you can use it outside while exploring and get good closeups of insects and plants. This also comes with a stand that you can attach the microscope to so that the picture is stable and not bouncing around. Attached is a close-up picture that Id took off a piece of broccoli – excellent quality and resolution.
