so easy. Run along the rails and if you get a flicker you run over the point more slowly to find the problem. Nice little gadget. Edit April 30th this just saved me ages of trial and error to discover a bad fishplate on my track. If I could give 6 stars I would such a great cheap thing for the tool box don’t hesitate buy one !

Cheap useful tester for track , you can check track polarity and continuity. You could make one yourself very simply but it just saves time.

Received today and tested quickly for functioning with a flat button cell. This little device needs some modification in my opinion and that's what I have planned for it. I'm going to fit it to a small unused 4 wheeled box wagon chassis. I'll fit pick-ups to the wheels and a micro toggle switch so it can be manually rolled along the track, and parked in a siding with a "Track tester" logo on the side.
