Good toy to patience
This is good toy to teach patience. It's well suited for 6 to 8 years old. The tiny tools help them chip away gently to get to the dinosaur. My friend's son loves playing with this toy. There are many little dinosaur inside the egg.

Excellent for a Junior Paleontologist
This was extremely messy but extremely awesome for my Junior Paleontologist. She was in love with idea and the process. The dinosaurs that were found were a little difficult to identify even with the info cards that came with the egg. Also, the tools were small and the egg is hard so it takes a little bit of muscle, patience, and muscle to use the chisel. Also, she found all the dinosaurs on the top2/3 rds of the egg and had a 3rd of the egg empty and left over.Regardless... it was fun for us and I didnt even mind cleaning up all the dust. We did it in the house..lol.. I DO NOT recommend if you have a carpet, doing it in that room..lol.. unless you want to vaccum FOREVER.. if anything, next time I'll put down a rotary or a sheet... something ..lol.. but there WILL be a next time.

Just Okay
The egg itself is pretty big and my 5 year old was very excited to pick it apart and get the dinosaurs out. HOWEVER, the tools provided with the egg are basically useless, they are too small and it would take a small child a long time using them to even get one dinosaur out. I had to improvise and give my 5 year old a hammer (yes, a hammer) to get the dino’s out. After the hammer was given it took no time getting them out, and he was very excited to pull the small creatures out and let me read to him what each one was based off the cards.Do I think it’s a great idea for children who loves dinosaurs? Absolutely but keep in mind to have something heavier that your child could use under your supervision to break the egg with.
