Beans-Shaped Bottle Cleaning Sponge (Set of 2)

I bought these because they were a cute online recommendation, and I find it easier to clean if I look forward to using silly little beans to clean my water bottle. The trade off with this life policy, of course, is that constantly prioritizing cute/silly cleaning products does often mean I'm paying for something I enjoy looking at or using rather than paying for the highest quality, most efficient items.Not so with the beans! They're heavier than they look, and they're really effective at cleaning my water bottle. I'm pleasantly surprised at how effective they are!

I wouldn't have thought something so simple could clean so well, but they do! Put them in a bottle with a little soap and water, shake, and voila!

These things are so cool. I hate cleaning our protein shakers because they beat my knuckles up but this does the trick! Gets everything out (which isn’t easy with protein powders) and rinses clean

Easy to use; I made sure to attach a string so the "beans" could be easily removed from narrow necked bottles.

I love it when cuteness has concept behind it: this pair of beans does more than just look pretty - they re-beautify other objects. I use the beans weekly. Recently, though, I discovered a drawback when I tried to wash out a blueberry-banana smoothie container: the sponge was porous enough to trap one or two small pieces of sticky blueberry skin that had escaped being finely blended. One of the pieces I was able to squeeze and pinch out from the pod like a splinter, but the other piece had pasted itself onto one of the balls and I didn't manage to remove it as I was afraid of scratching a hole in the sponge. On closer inspection, I saw a few smaller blueberry particles had also trapped themselves in the sponge mesh. Though I expect the lingering food traces will wash out completely with future use, it was disappointing to realize these beans only work ideally when cleaning out "smooth" beverages like tea and not, ironically, smoothies.Aside: As with January's reviewer, my beans did not come with a string.

I bought these originally about 3 years ago. I use two metal bottles each work day - one with coffee or tea and one with water. I used these each day for the last 2.5-3 years to clean the coffee/tea bottle. Not only are tumblers that are years old still spotless and odor free, these removed stains that had been in some tumblers for years before I used these. These sat on my sink caddy, next to my sponge and dish brush, from the day I got them. Today, 1 of my two beans opened at the seam and the spheres slipped out, so I came here to buy another set. Other than the hole in the seam, they looked like the day I bought them! I highly recommend these!

I have a stainless steel bottle that I use for my daily cold green tea. It has a narrow mouth and I'm not the greatest about keeping it clean. Used Bottle Brite tablets (twice) and there was still a lot of residue. Put these in with some hot water, shook like my life depended on it, dumped out the filthy water and did it several more times until the water came clean. Rinsed off the beans and they're ready to use. Plan on using these on a daily basis to keep the bottle clean.

I kept these by the kitchen sink, in the little tub where I house my dish sponge. I noticed they have completely disintegrated. A gentle touch causes even more breakage. I guess it's not water-friendly... Oh the irony. I've only used these ONCE and I am sorely disappointed. They didn't clean my water bottle 100%, but really... what does? I really love the intended design of this product. A lot less cumbersome and a lot more fun to use than those bottle brushes, but the material is so thin and weak.

Mine didn’t come with the bead cord (?!?) but I don’t use it anyway. This is my second pair, one for work, one for home. I like the feeling the inside of my bottles are getting a scrubbing, especially if I’ve left one a bit long. It makes cleaning them fast too. Good for bottles where you have used them for not just water, like a soda stream syrup or ice tea.

Love these! work great and my bottles can finally be completely clean!
