Q: How much weight does it hold?

So the closer together your ceiling trusses are the more secure and the more weight it will be able to hold. My trusses are at about the maximum spacing possible with this product and it is securely holding a fixture that is about 30 pounds. I believe it is rated for 50 total, which based on my experience it should be able to do.

Q: Can this be installed over truss plates?

I believe that they can be installed over trust plates as long as you do not harm the structural integrity of the building. You would probably have to pre-drill the installation holes

Q: Where can i purchase the 939 model?

I couldn't find a retailer. Suggest you write to Hubbell for the answer.
