Quick and easy replacement.
Needed a replacement for a J35B UPS and this is it. Easy replacement, battery worked no problem. Just remember to change the install date on the unit.

Easy installation and Recycling.
The hardest part was making sure I had the right part number for the APC replacement battery. Here is the drill! Find the sticker with your model Number on the back or bottom of your UPS. Then go to the APC website [APC.COM] and get the recommended replacement battery part number for your UPS. [Don't be seduced by saving a few bucks with a cheaper replacement]. The APC battery [actually 2 batteries in my case] comes pre assembled and ready to install.Turn your UPS off, unplug it from the wall, lay your UPS on its side on a flat surface, slide off the battery compartment cover and remove the installed battery, install your replacement battery, reinstall the cover. turn your UPS upright and plug it in the wall, turn your UPS on and verify everything is working. It took more time to write this review than it did to swap the battery pack in my BX1300G APC UPS.Oh yes be sure and recycle your removed battery pack responsibly, don't put it in the trash. The recycling information took a bit of searching. "When you buy a new genuine APC RBC, you can recycle your old UPS battery via the "RBC Recycling Program" on the APC website. This program includes free return to a recycling center (use the packaging from your new battery to return the old)"

It's a battery. It holds charge and works and most importantly makes the red warning light go away
The replace battery warning came on after a self-test. This is a replacement for that battery. It works. Not sure what else to say about it other than it was a huge PITA to get the old one out. You'd think it would just slide straight out easily but no. It catches about 1/4 of the way out and again about 3/4 of the way out. It required some secret handshake - down and out then up and out to extract the old battery. Not a fan of that setup. The battery is HEAVY - it's not like it's just going to come shooting out of the UPS if it has an unimpeded straight path out. Anyhow, the battery is installed and working and the red light is out so all is good.

APC Generic Replacement Battery Pack
I own an APC Back-UPS Pro 1000, which recently displayed a "02 Battery Output Short" error and could no longer keep connected devices powered during short outages. I purchased this APC generic RBC123 replacement battery and it arrived the next day. Installation was straightforward, and the UPS is now functioning perfectly. I highly recommend this option if your UPS needs a battery replacement as it's much more cost-effective than buying a new unit.

Battery Is NOT 100% Charged
The battery is probably alright. However, do NOT believe Amazon when they say the battery comes 100% Charged. What this means is, when you replace the battery, you may not have enough charge to sustain your equipment if you have even a short power outage before the battery recharges, depending upon your load. I would recommend, if using your equipment is not required 24/7, that you leave your equipment powered down while the battery fully recharges, possibly up to 8 to 24 hours. My battery arrived only about 40% charged according to the PowerChute software that manages the APC UPS. You can monitor the approximate battery charge level by watching the UPS screen; pressing the right-hand button usually brings up a battery charge indicator. If you very seldom have outages, then go ahead and use the UPS. We here almost never have outages, and the battery self-test didn't reveal the battery problem until we had an extended outage. The very short self-test or even manual test just is not enough to determine a weak battery all the time. So don't depend upon it 100%. Probably wise to replace them at regular intervals, at least 3-5 years. I think my old one was 9 years old. Pretty good, actually.
