It Works - If You Know What It's Used For
This is a five-star product, if you use it as intended. I've been looking at all of the different reviews, and noticed something. When many of the reviewers describe their experience with this product, they're often talking about applications that would have been better suited for another Ortho product. So what exactly is this product used for?GroundClear Year Long is specifically used for spot treatments of weeds around hardscapes. In other words, not for spraying a large area of your yard. But to catch the weeds growing through the cracks in concrete, brick, under your deck, in your driveway, in parking lots, right along the fence, and in gravel areas. And not all weeds. Is this product right for you?If you're not doing spot treatments around hardscapes, probably not. Trying to get rid of dandelions, crabgrass? Get WeedClear North. Want to kill clover, but leave your St. Augustine lawn unaffected? Then you want WeedClear South. You know what weight motor oil to buy for your car or truck. You know what color clothes to wash with bleach, and which ones you don't. You know what goes with Jack, Crown, Jameson, Makers Mark, and what doesn't go with it. My point being, not all Ortho products are created equal. Some are ideal for certain lawns, some for hardscapes, some for specific types of weeds. Groundclear Year Long is not meant to be a one-and-done for all weed types, or conditions. So if you ordered it, used it, and wonder why you still have growth... You basically brought a fifth of Tennessee whiskey and a jug of skim milk to the party, and get surprised no one's enjoying the mixed drinks. It works. I'll upload photos when Amazon allows pictures in the reviews again (they limited the review staff and picture options with everything going on right now). We have weeds and unwanted stuff growing in and around a slab next to one of the houses on our land. I picked a day when the sun was high, the temp was over 80, hadn't rained for a couple of days and wasn't going to rain for a few more days. Timing, heat, sun, dryness all make a difference in how well the treatment works. This is as easy to use as any other battery operated spray, and the spray reaches far enough that you don't need to get super close to use it. I sprayed the areas that needed it, along the edges and coming through cracks in the slab itself. The Ortho claim is that it works within an about an hour. And it does. Now, it's not going to be shriveled up and dead in just one hour, this isn't agent orange. But you'll see super obvious wilting and discoloring in just an hour, as long as you do it on a warm day when the sun is out, and it hasn't just rained. You'll also know within a few hours which weeds aren't affected by this spray in particular (which is why you do your homework in advance and figure out which weeds go with which sprays). I snapped photos before I sprayed, and I took more pictures 24 hours later. You'll see the difference when I upload them. Were there any stragglers? Yep, and I knew in advance that there would be. This would be a good way to determine which solution to switch to later, particularly for the hardscapes in this area.GroundClear Year Long is a five-star product, if you're using it as intended, where intended. If you buy it for any other reason than hardscapes, if you didn't check which types of vegetation it kills, giving it less than five stars doesn't make sense. If you're thinking about getting it, and it seems like it will meet your needs, then get it. Otherwise, take a few minutes to just glance at the related products on this page, and figure out if another Ortho product would be better. Either way, definitely go with Ortho.

I tried many...Ortho Groundclear still the best!
I don't know why this stuff is so good. Some sort of secret Ortho sauce. I have tried so many other brands and potions on Amazon, and this is still the champ. I always see results in 24 hours...and it does keep it clear for the season. I live in a desert-ish climate, so maybe the lack of humidity magnifies its power for me, but this is a great product. I have to buy multiples and use a backpack sprayer. My only point of dissatisfaction is the lack of availability of the concentrate version at the time of this writing. The concentrate can produce 5 gallons of solution for near the same price. But the product itself - 5 stars all the way!

Stuff works WAY BETTER than ROUND-UP and costs ALOT LESS!!! :o
I've tried all the Weed killers and they NEVER last as long as they say they do. I HATE having to Constantly spray poison in my yard, I'm a One and Done type person. Discovered this product 15 years ago, I just put it in the pump sprayer with water ( It doesn't last no year or whatever it says either) But it does last a good 4 to 6 months depending on How much it rains every month after you spray. So Overall it's much better than Round-up which I literally had to spray every month. I have a corner property and live in a windy country town, so everybodies crap ends up in my yard. And as I get older I just can't NoT use weed killer, cause my back and knees are killing me more each year to try to hand pull all those weeds from multiple gardens and huge yard. This stuff also works great to spray along fence line so you don't need to use a weed-Wacker, which if you have carpal tunnel like me, is impossible to use without your hands going completely numb in a few minutes and just dangerous to use weed-whackers and chainsaws. This stuff works great. Hope they don't screw up the formula in the future.

Ortho Ground Clear murders most weeds in Texas
If you're looking to kill some weeds, Ortho Ground Clear is good choice. It won't kill every plant known to man, and that's not a problem. All herbicides have limitations and recommended uses. This product kills many grasses and broadleaf weeds (which means this product kills most of what you'll encounter in many residential areas). If you're trying to kill Mesquite or other exotic plants like cactus on the ranch, you'll need to do some Googling to find the right mix of poisons to match your local area (e.g. use Sendero to kill Mesquite).I use this product every year to kill weeds that come up in mulch beds and hardscapes (e.g. grass between pavers, in gravel, etc.). It works great, and one treatment generally lasts the full year if you spray in March or April when the growing season in Texas starts with warmer weather. Sometimes I end up spot-spraying a few new weeds that poke up in the following cool season (e.g. October'ish), but that's not unexpected.Great price (~$42 in hyperinflation 2022) for 2 gallons of concentrate. Mix 24 ounces of product per gallon of water (you can make ten gallons per two-gallon bottle of concrete). This goes a long way for most homeowner scenarios (e.g. sidewalks, driveways, mulch beds, around the pool, etc.). If you've got lots of acreage to maintain, do your homework, identify the plants in your area, find the best poison(s) for those plants, and get to work!
