1000 Magic The Gathering Cards with 25 Rares & 5 Mythic Rares (MTG) - All Magic: The Gathering Lots

I went through and cataloged every card from this box, the full list is below. I got a total of 1128 cards (comprised of 649 unique cards). There were a large number of duplicates (almost half the box with some cards like Claustrophobia of Axebane Stag having 10 copies of each). There was a fair number of double-sided cards so the numbers may be slightly off (+/- ~15 cards). In my full list below I have listed both sides of the card a separate cards. I'm new to MtG and this was a great way to start out. I'll admit that I'm a bit overwhelmed at the thought of making decks out of these cards, but it's certainly a large variety and many of the duplicates seem like they're good cards to have duplicates of anyway. I got the 5 mythic cards and got an extra rare (duplicate). Based only on the resale value of the mythic and rare cards this box is worth about $30 bucks for me, so I consider that a wonderful deal. I'm sure the 1.1K other cards would net me a fair bit even selling in bulk. I started playing MTG Recently after playing with cards from my friend's collection. I was looking at this to specifically jump-start my collection, and I was pleased with the purchase. I purchased two lots from TTD (which, as I am writing this review, has no lots currently available), and I would be willing to make a purchase again. The purchase shipped very quickly, perhaps less than a week after the order was placed. Within the first lot, the box was opened to have the rares and mythics sleeved separately from the collection, stacked according to rarity. The box can be opened to find tight fitting cards in an 800 count box with card edges visibly new and undamaged. The first box I sorted I believe I got more red and white cards than the others, with red being the most and green being the least. I believe about 1/5 of the cards were uncommon, and there were a few non-basic lands. The most copies of a card I got were 19 of one, and then roughly 8-9 of two others. Most cards had few copies or had 4-5 which is fine because having a full playset of a card is not a bad thing. As promised, the box contained one or two hundred extra cards, which more than makes up for the copies. I only received on card in Japanese and one card from pre-10th edition. One rare was found aside from the sleeved ones. The second lot was the same as the first when opened. The only visible difference were some white borders on a group of cards. These cards from older sets numbered to no more than 30 or 40. There were no foreign language cards in this lot, and a ton more non-basic lands, which I was pleasantly surprised with. Duplication in this seemed smaller; perhaps one card had more than 6 copies. The color variation was more skewed in this lot, however. I received far more greens than any other color, red second, and the least was white. Similarly, about 1/5 of the cards were uncommon. Roughly 3 rares were found in the box aside from the 25 promised ones. After sorting out all of the cards, I used some copies Snapping Drake which I had received 19 of as temporary dividers after placing roughly 8 back in the collection itself. The only cards that are unplayable within this box were a few Ravnica draft artifacts and two conspiracy cards. Most everything else in playable in some format. I purchased from TTD due to a very positive review from another customer and was very pleased with the purchase. Had I been a green player, this order would have been perfect. I will probably buy two more lots from them in the future.

I started playing MTG back in early to mid nineties. Played until early 2000's and life moved on. So, a couple of months ago I decided to form a couple of decks to start playing again. I thought this box would give me at least one very good deck, but it didn't! From all the 1000 cards, I got six lands, no Rare nor Mythic Rare cards, loads of repetitions - I have a bout 33 Horizon Spellbomb, absolutely unnecessary! Most cards are very basic, the lesser cards you can get. To form a deck, you will have to buy a Land replacement package. Once you have Lands, you will be able to play with these cards, but don't expect much from your deck, as you won't be able to form a good one to be competitive. I don't know, it felt like I was scammed.... For the money you pay for this box full of nothing, you can get a proper 2 Decks set that is ready to play. I ended up buying two ready to play decks, one regular and the LOTR set (which is absolutely gorgeous, btw!). An now I am stuck with 1000 useless cards. This will probably be a donation to the library in town. Smh!

What I expected: reading the reviews I was skeptical, I was half expecting a box full of bad quality duplicate commons, 25x mudhole for rare and 5x protean hydras for mythic since I tend to have bad luck in life. What I got: pleasant surprise, as advertised I got the promised mythical and rare cards and they had good variety, my only gripe with the mythics was a conspiracy mythic which is only really useable when drafting that set- but the rest of the rares and mythics are of good value for the price of admission. I’ve included a picture for the keen eyed. The box had a good mix of uncommon & commons from as far back as ice age- mostly newer sets, there were multiple play sets of different uncommons and commons; all lands included were not basic ones. Overall I am satisfied. The good: worth the price of admission, fun to sort through and if you play EDH (commander for new players) this could be a nice starter kit to get you building with stuff you might not see at your LGS. The Bad: I didn’t like getting a card that can’t be used except in the conspiracy set during a draft- especially a mythic; but the art is cool on it so 50/50 right? The Ugly: the art on “Eaten by Spiders” I would recommend buying this if you... Are new to the game and want an instant collection of good variety. EDH player that wants to get some wacky new cards to build with.
