Be My Guest: At Home with the Tastemakers

I enjoyed this book a lot-- it's an eclectic lot of homeowners, that's for sure. It is full of lovely ideas on how to set a welcoming table or create a welcoming setting-- at every scale. The text is a little on the frothy and breathless side, but it does get at how people think about entertaining-- something we are all looking forward to doing again soon. While I might not choose the way the homeowner did, I certainly was happy enough to be inspired by beautiful houses, beautiful settings, and beautiful tables. And it's fun to share with another too. Like another reviewer, I was surprised by the recipes, the first one anyway. I wish there were fewer desserts and more main courses. But I've tried a few and they turned out as I expected.

Well it’s a nice book. A lot of bad taste and a fair amount of good taste. Nice recipes. Pretty but if you spent much time in some of the rooms you would have a headache. Some people never know when to stop.

The interior rooms photos are gorgeous and the recipes are clear and easy to follow. I liked the idea that this book did feature interior design along with recipes. The cover is very pretty. Would recommend.

I bought this as a gift for my media professional daughter. She loves it!

This is a beautiful book. I enjoyed it throughly. From the sumptuous homes, collections and table settings to favorite menus, the book was an inspiration.

Someone's great idea of getting people in nice houses to share their cooking backfires. I loathed it and returned it.

Very odd interiors. Beyond eccentric. Not my thing at all.

die ersten Seiten des Buches waren fesselnd und bestanden aus einer Reihe herrlicher Fotografien sehr interessante Persönlichkeiten. Gute Aufnahmen und dem Zeitgeist entsprechende Dekorationen, die sehr zur Inspiration anregen. Dann langsam immer mehr Kochrezepte,Das Buch wird ein wenig gummiartig, d.h. immer mehr Seiten füllen da Rezepte,, alles in allem ein nettes Buch aber wie gesagt Kochrezepte noch dazu in dieser Menge haben in einem Buch über stylisches wohnen nicht wirklich etwas verloren. Habe das Buch daher zurück gesendet. In meiner Bibliothek brauche ich es nicht!
