Amazing Pillow - Effective at Preventing Blood Pooling and Inflammation
I broke my left wrist, left clavicle, eight left ribs (plus punctured lung, 25 fractures, kidney/liver lacerations. concussion, etc) in a mountain biking accident. I had titanium plates installed on the wrist and clavicle, and when I was discharged from ICU, I couldn't sleep until I had this pillow. This product elevates your hand/arm and prevents inflammation and blood pooling from compressing nerves. It's worth every penny!

Helped Me Get Great Results for CMC & Carpal Tunnel Surgery
This pillow really helped a lot in my healing process after surgery. I am nearly two weeks post op from CMC and carpal tunnel surgery on my left thumb and wrist. I had my first physical therapy appointment yesterday for assessment. I have very little swelling (even with two procedures at once!). I used this elevation pillow to keep my hand above my heart and used Cryopack ice packs (20 minutes on, 20 off). Didn't need a lot of pain meds either. A heads up if your skin is sensitive. I developed a slight reaction to the foam. Some cloth covering the arm hole will take care of that. Not a big deal. Also, because of back issues, I sleep in a recliner. I pushed the chair next to a wall so the pillow rested against it. That was one less thing to struggle with. Finally, there was no odor to the foam. This arrived very quickly, in great shape (shrink wrap), expanded quickly. Thanks Amazon workers for you hard work!😊

Flimsy, didn’t last one week
I used this for only five nights and the arm support piece became detached. Adhesive gave way and there is no way to fix it. This is $90 for about $1 worth of foam that doesn’t even last a week, let alone the five weeks that I need to keep my broken wrist elevated while sleeping..

Huge for recovery
100% Recommend for Elbow Surgery I'm now post-op day 5 after an ulnar nerve transposition and excision of a small bit of medial triceps. This pillow is 100% a must for ideal recovery. It kept my arm comfortable and elevated the first 36 hours. I don't think there's any design issues and don't understand the people complaining about the break in the foam. That's a purposeful design feature that allows for easy insertion and removal of an arm wrapped in a soft splint. Highly recommend.

not all i was hoping for
i purchased this to get me through the pain of a broken wrist and succeeding surgery. the pictures made it seem helpful to get adequate sleep at night. it did not. it was far from comfortable. notice the rounded edge center where the elbow goes. this causes extreme discomfort to the shoulder when sleeping on back. i desperately wanted to return it. as a last attempt to use it so i didnt waste my $$, since it isnt returnable, i tried it while sitting up during the day. i found this far more comfortable, but still, if the photos hadnt lead me to believe it was for bedrest, i wouldnt have bothered to waste my $. and as others have reported, it does pull apart at the seems, and its cumbersome putting a sore swollen arm into it. youre better off puchasing a few extra pillows. also, as i said, i broke my wrist, hence my lack of capitalizing, i hunt and peck one handed right now. i dont usually try to write like e.e. cummings....

Useful but overpriced
After having hand surgery I found this item really was able to keep my arm elevated especially at night while sleeping. It allowed me to get in the bed and off the recliner. It was very bulky and it is really just foam with a hole in it. In less than a week the bottom piece came off. It was separating slightly but my 8yo curiosity finished it off. Without the bottom piece I am still able to use and I’m sure my hot glue gun could fix it but it is so much less bulky I decided to keep it as is. I’m glad I purchased it to help keep the swelling down but I do think it was a bit overpriced.

Look Ma, It Holds My Arm Up!
Works great, very effective and (relatively) comfortable in holding the arm/hand up while sleeping after hand surgery. Glad we read other reviews about how the seams can separate, so we successfully used "form glue" to reinforce them. Now if there were only a way to store it in a more compact state in prep for the other hand's surgery.

Quite helpful but a little expensive
I recently suffered a nasty fracture to my radius on my right (dominant) hand that required surgery. I was in excruciating pain and keeping the arm in an upright position helped. This pillow keeps your arm in that position even when sleeping and if you toss and turn like I do it keeps you from rolling over onto the break which would have been especially bad when I was in a one sided splint for the fist couple weeks after the operation. The sizing is adequate even for this six foot two human with large muscular arms. I am now in a hard fiberglass cast so I don't use this as often now. The doctor said I'm healing very well for the severity of the break (my radius was in pieces) which I attribute to the skill of my surgeon, lots of milk and a determination to heal and keeping my arm in a good position. I'm glad I purchased this product but I feel like it was a little overpriced for what it is. However what medical device isn't?
