Room darkening and insulating
Very good quality, better than that nat'l fabric store.I made room darkening curtains with this, but you can also sew on to existing curtains as well.Helps insulate cold windows in winter too.

Block out light
Perfect. They block out light and temperature. I have the fabric velcro around my window and I can't feel the cool air come inside from the windows. I have old crank windows that are not even so air enters.

It Works
This material is NOT forgiving if you use tacks with it - like tacking it up around a window sill, then simply untack a few to open the window if desired. Would be nice if there was some 'forgiveness' in the fabric. Might need to run a line of duct tape over those spots. ;)Aside from that, definitely does it's job well!

Holds up well, real blackout material.
We ordered some blackout curtains from amazon. They were heavy and darkened the room decently, but we're not blackout. We are using this material to back those curtains with in order to create a true blackout curtain that looks nice.My wife had a piece of this material left over from a project at work and we used it on the window in the door near this kid's room. Works great and really highlights how bad the other "blackout" curtains really are.

Don’t order
This stuff is terrible to work with do yourself a favor and don’t order ... stiff, plastic like material, slips on the feed dog theeth, won’t fold and stay folded you have to roll... I ended up scrapping the whole project ... I have worked with fabric and lining for curtains and drapes before and this is by far the worst stuff ever! Came from California but for the time it took to get here it would have been faster getting it from China. Spend a little more money and get something worth spending your time on

Good for DIY blackout shades
Works well to block light! Having some trouble finding something to hang these with (the glue on industrial Velcro will not hold these for more than 10 days at a time). Be aware these might be marked - mine had a 4 foot black line/mark - looked like ink from a machine - running the length of the fabric. Didn't matter to me because I hung them behind another shade, but it would ruin the look if you weren't planning on layering the curtains.

Wonderful!
I purchased 10 yards of this black out fabric and am very happy with it. It did have a chemical smell when it arrived, but I just draped it over a railing in the house and the smell dissipated by the next day. I have already finished one set of curtains with this fabric and can say that it looks and works great! Would definitely buy again if I hadn't already bought 10 yards!

Awesome blackout fabric
Awesome blackout fabric!! This is absolutely great fabric. It comes on the bolt so that you don't have to worry about it being wrinkled or bent. Minor complaint is that it does have a pretty strong smell when you first start using it. Keep in mind, if you poke holes in it, that area will show light through, so be mindful of where you plan your seams.
