When I first got these I thought I bought too many, but I have burned right through them the garage. I was able to "hang" a lot of items and free up floor space. They are sturdy and well built. You are OK even off you do not hit a stud, unless you are hanging something that is very heavy.

They are a little big for a standard hammer but it does work-could probably.hold 2 standard hammers on one hook. The other one works well to hold a 2" rubber mallet.

Recommend installing on a solid point of contact such as a stud or masonary block for a stronger hold ing point and to minimize damage to drywall. If you are mounting this to drywall or a surface that is not reenforced USE drywall anchors or anchors to reenforce the mounting location.
