Good Introduction
Read the book whilst undergoing some practical experience on a community dig. I found the contents very interesting with some good illustrations. The explanations are fairly clear and provide enough technological detail to grasp how the techniques work and differ. The second half of the book builds on what has been covered with good case studies which allow the reader to grasp the usefulness of the different techniques in different projects. I would highly recommend this book for archaeology students and amateurs alike.
