LESS CONTACT = LESS GERMS
It is exactly what I was looking for, a way to dispense FOAMING soap in my bathroom without the need for contact. I CAPPED FOAMING because this is the second product that I bought as the other did not dispense FOAMING SOAP at all. It is very responsive to motion but not so much that it accidentally discharges. You can use batteries or a (power adapter not included) I will use this permanently in my bathroom, so I installed it on a stud. My only con and reason for the missing one star is that there is no option to manage how much soap to dispense. For that I would say that lesser is better and if you prefer more than you can activate the dispenser a couple of times for more soap.

Alpine automatic hand sanitizer
I have ordered three different ones however I had to return one because sensor was not functioning and another one is also not functioning even though I have a full battery! So if that is the problem then I would not go with this brand! I am waiting for another one as well if that sensor also not work then l will return all! It is just couple of weeks only! I hope l don’t have to do that if it continues functioning!

No Longer Manages to Dispense Soap
In less that 2 weeks, it has managed to fail. The problem seems to be that the spring-loaded pump does not return to the "home" or extended state most of the time. It never has returned all the way, meaning that it dispenses less foam than it should. And now it gets stuck in the "up" position. There is a lot of friction when you push or pull the pump body to manually cycle the pump -- which means that you should expect the gears or motor to fail at some point. (Which may not matter because the pump will probably have completely failed by that time.) One option is to open the cover of the dispenser after each use, pull out the bottle and extend the pump, and then reassemble everything for the next user. (That's probably not a practical solution, but it will work.) Based on other reviews, this is a know problem with these is model of dispenser. In August of 2020 I ordered two earlier models of an Alpine foaming soap dispenser. Last month the pump for the dispenser installed in the kitchen decided to fail, pouring liquid soap (about 1 1/2 cups) onto the countertop and then down onto the floor. Walking into the kitchen and thinking I saw a water leak of some kind, I stepped right into it and almost went down. Update: I emailed the company that distributes Alpine and their response was: "I apologize for the inconvenience you are experiencing. As this order was recent from Amazon please work with them for a replacement." Amazon's solution was to issue a refund without a return...More plastic and electronic waste.

Works great, tank leaks
I purchased in 2022. I am pretty much sole user. It works really well and have been pleased with it. Now in early April 2024, it checked the soap level and find that the poly tank has cracks in it, and leaked all the soap. Kind of disappointing as the tank is made of the same material as a bottle of vinegar or detergent. Why would the tank crack?? Alpine will replace but the cost is not a bargain. They charge shipping plus a sur charge on orders less than 20 bucks. Oye Vay.

A great commercially designed product also functional for the home
We have used an older model Alpine foaming dispenser in the past with great satisfaction. Mounted on a wire stand in the guest bathroom for our kids and guests to use. The large refill capability is cost saving when mixing your own diluted soap and the batteries last well into a year plus - depends on frequency of use. Sturdy, priced competitively, commercial grade, and easy to manage. It stands out and makes you instinctively stick your hands under it - Lol. Got another to upgrade ours and passing on the older one to family with young kids to help practice good hygiene.

Okay so far
It was easy to assemble, but Have not been able to use as yet as I have not received the batteries, not sure why it could not be shipped with the unit, so I cannot comment on how it works as far as motion detector etc.

This soap dispenser is defective. The soap container is leaking, and the battery compartment shows signs of corrosion. The return isn't possible despite that it states "Return or Replace Items eligible through October 3, 2024"; Amazon or seller makes this process is complicated and ineligible at all... Disappointed
