Q: What is the tang on this bad boy? That's the one thing I want to know!

I’ve owned one for twenty years. The only thing that made the handle fail was accidentally throwing it in a fire. Made a new handle from epoxy.

Q: In one solid hour of nonstop effort, how many zombies could I permantly disable with this tool?

Assuming you have great cardio fitness and them being within continuous reach for the full hour (so as not to have to reposition yourself); I'd say approximately 1,800 zombies. The key to this is excellent cardio, good accuracy and starting off with a razor sharp edge to your blade.

Q: what's the thickness?

Just about 3/16" from handle to halway up the blade. Then it drops to about 1/8" to the point of the blade on the back end of the blade. The front is razor sharp. This is a solid blade, and heavier then it looks. The overall lenght is 17" full tang, and blade from handle is 11 1/2". This Ka-Bar is worth more then the price listed.

Q: Will this machete work for clearing bamboo?

I've been using it to clear bamboo for almost 8 years and it's AMAZING for that. One clean cut to chop it down, and then slices cleanly along the bamboo shaft to remove the branches. Never sharpened and still works like new
