Kaytee Southern Regional Wild Bird Blend, 7-Pound Bag

Great Mix. I got pretty much every common midwestern bird at my feeder over the past year and they keep coming back. The only thing I’m not as big a fan of is some of the seed does tend to grow if it hits the ground below it. Not because it is growing, just because when I mow over it it makes a mess against that side of my house. Otherwise it is great and honestly I’ll keep buying it because the birds love it.

I was feeling bad for the birds having to forage for food in a long hot west coast summer, so I purchased a bird feeder pole with water attachment and flat feeder along with a couple of hanging 2lb bird feeders. Didn't realize I'd be feeding every bird in my zip code because my backyard now looks like something out of Albert Hitchcock's 'The Birds'. This bird seed obviously a favorite with west coast birds. I wouldn't know a finch from a seagull, but this bird seed blend attracts various types of birds. It's like an all you can eat buffet for them. I thought they'd come for a quick meal and then leave. Didn't realize my backyard has now turned into the local gathering location for all of them. Might have to hire someone to do the night shift to keep the feeders full. I guess I'm in the learning phase for what I need to do to regulate feeding because they're greedy and will continue to eat until nothing is left. Two feeders with 2lbs each and a flat feeder with 1lb on it and they can go through all of that in a day. At this rate that would add up to 140lbs of feed a month or in money terms $260 a month. I've got to figure this out or I'll go broke. 5 stars for this West Coast blend and if you want to start your own Aviary, this would be the product to go for.

High quality bird seed and smells fresh with a nice variety of seeds. I live in the PNW and all of the seeds are eaten and enjoyed by the birds and the squirrels.

Better price per ounce than retail stores around me. Bag is inside a sturdy box made to fit so I buy three at a time and stack until used. I have used Kaytee Midwest blend for at least three years and the birds prefer it over other seed mixes. It attracts juncoes, various colorful finches, and doves. Even the nuthatches and cardinals will leave the safflower and peanut feeders to grab a few Midwest mix seeds.
