First off, I own strap locks by Schaller, Dunlop and ernie ball. I have played guitar for 30 years. I started with Schaller, great but pointy so difficult to put instrument down, also if you just want to attach a strap without the locks on almost impossible. Years later Dunlop came out, cheap looking but very simple mechanism. Easy to put guitar down due to the low profile and strap button allows for strap without locks. One button press release system while simple can be problematic if you bump it. The bad is the locks can be difficult to attach to most straps due to the washer/lock that slides on the strap, takes some effort to install. Time moved on, now we come to ernie ball. Wow. This is my third set. I bought the gold set because...get ready...7 bucks no tax free ship from amazon. Schaller 20-30 bucks, Dunlop 15-20 bucks, these, 7 bucks (I paid 20 for the first two sets). But forget about the price. The strap buttons are large enough to use a strap without locks, the locks themselves are heavy gauge and have a perfect finish. The two push buttons to lock unlock are like silk and take two areas to compress and release, unlike Dunlop. Low profile, so easy to put instrument down, and these screw onto your strap so no difficulty with installation. Very simple to install. These are truly THE BEST straplocks on the market today. Oh, Ive also done the van halen thing with steel eyelets, though very secure, not very practicle, but for 70 cents, it works.

First time using these strap locks and I am not disappointed at all. I installed them on my 2011 Gibson SG with only a slight problem. The screws that came with the locks were too long, so I just reused my original screws and had no problems. I just didn’t want to drill deeper holes in my guitar and I would have had to do otherwise. Great product and for the price I’m satisfied with them as they perform perfectly as they should

My internal argument w/myself: “why don’t they sell just the buttons?!? I only need 1 set of locks for my 1 strap and multiple sets of buttons for my other basses”… “I guess its because the locks wear out over time and you’ll have extras; the buttons should last a lifetime(?)”…”that makes sense, I guess, if that’s the real reason?!?”…”f-if I know, but I do know Ernie Ball DOESN’T sell these buttons on their own so it’s a hefty investment if you’ve got multiple guitars and just 1 strap on”. Note: Ernie Ball DOES sell buttons but they’re not for this quick release system and won’t work – read the fine print on their website before getting too giddy &...'excited'... perv!

These are easy to use and install, but I found the screws had a finer thread than the original screws and on my Epiphone Les Paul Studio, the bottom button screw just wouldn't bite. So I need to find a replacement screw that will work. I haven't compared it yet to my gold set which I have on a Les Paul Custom and worked just fine to see if there's a size difference. Great looking and performing product for the ones it's working on!

Pretty much have changed all my guitars to this system so all my straps fit all my guitars... Has come in clutch... They are a decent strap lock for sure. I do play live and I'm not a soft sterile player.. I move around a lot... jump around and walk on and off stage with my guitar hanging around my back and upside down to kept my hands free when walking... rock solid!

good item but I cannot use them as I tried to use them on my gibson les paul deluxe guitar and the problem is gibson uses 2 different sized screws. these I tried after ordering a very expensive set of schallers which also did not work.

So I have played guitar for many years and have only just started mucking in with some rhythm guitar in the band that I sing in. My lead guitarist suggested I needed these or risk a very expensive drop involving my original Les Paul Gibson and a solid wood stage floor. These were the ones I opted for. Super easy to install. The instructions talk about drilling holes but I simply unscrewed the existing strap clips from my guitar and screwed these ones in. They went in with no problem at all. The other end just screws onto your strap and you are good to go. Really handy for changing guitars whilst using the same strap. Plus your guitar is less likely to come away from the strap and end up on the floor. They look good too. I’m really happy with this!

I really like the simplicity of these locks and they look awesome. Remember they usually require the next size hole up to be drilled and then screwed in. Work a treat and super easy to swap guitars with favorite strap. Just wish i didn't have to buy the whole thing for the extra strap buttons :D
